Ever wondered what our Saturday long runs look like? 🏃‍♀️☀️

Everything really! We all start together at the Orange Beach Sportsplex trailhead at our designated time (which changes seasonally so we don’t melt or freeze!). The rest of the run is exactly what you need it to be that week.

We'll make a post each week once the time is determined for the next Saturday.

Here is how it usually breaks down:

The Main Pack: Most do 6 miles (3 out, 3 back) using a 3:1 run/walk interval. Those who prefer to skip the walk just run ahead for 30 seconds, then loop back to the group. Rinse and repeat!

The Fast Pack: Those who are moving at a quicker pace buddy up and head on out.

The Short & Sweet: Want fewer miles? Turn around at the 1.5 or 2-mile mark instead of 3.

The Walkers: Want to walk the 3-mile loop? Come on out!

But no matter what, as a group, we start together and we end together ❤️

Our long run isn’t about the pace or the distance. It’s about the company, the beautiful views, and our exclusive "Critter Count" system. (I promise to get a written point scale into our bylaws soon! 🦎🐍🦌🦅🐊)

Even if you prefer to do most of your miles solo, it’s about safety—knowing that someone is out there tracking you and making sure you get back to your car okay.

Looking ahead: If you need more than 6 miles on Saturdays, July starts our fall marathon training blocks, so there is plenty of room for extra mileage soon!

The point is just to move. Whatever pace. Whatever distance. We all start (or restart) somewhere, and WE start together ❤️
