A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE ANDERSON FAMILY!

Wave Baseball and Lady Wave Softball would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Michael and Genna Anderson for their incredibly generous donation to our organization!

Our baseballs at the Wave Training Facility had seen better days. After countless hours of hitting, throwing, and training, our supply was worn out, and we were in desperate need of replacements. The Anderson family stepped up in a big way, donating 30 DOZEN brand-new baseballs for our teams to use!

That is 360 brand-new baseballs that will make a difference for our players every single day at the facility. From our youngest players learning the fundamentals to our older teams preparing for competition, this donation will benefit our entire Wave Baseball family.

We are incredibly grateful for families like the Andersons who believe in what we are building and are willing to invest in our players. Their generosity goes beyond baseballs. It helps us provide a better training environment, support our coaches, and continue building something special for the kids in our community.

Michael and Genna, thank you for stepping up when we needed it most. Your support means more than you know, and we are proud to have your family as part of the Wave family!

This is not just any other weekend for our Wave families. A lot of our players and our community have been hit hard by this storm. For many of us, this means that we are still in the process of putting our lives back together. As we take the road this weekend, our thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors, our friends and our teams. Life does not always give us calm water, but Wave players will always rise to the occasion.

LADY WAVE 8U: Perfect Game Rising Stars SuperGirl 1st Place (Rainout)

Lady Wave 8U headed to Enterprise, Alabama, on Saturday looking to build on last weekend’s performance. After the way these girls had been playing, expectations were high.

And for a while, it looked like they were going to pick right back up where they left off.

Lady Wave rolled through pool play, earning the #1 seed out of eight teams and putting themselves in a great position heading into bracket play.

The first bracket game looked much the same. The girls came out competing and picked up another convincing win. But as the game went on, something started to look a little different.

The heat was taking its toll.

By the fourth game, heat soak was setting in, and it showed. The girls were clawing and fighting for every opportunity to spark an offensive rally and searching for that big defensive play to shift the momentum. There were flashes of the team we knew was in there — a few big runs, some outstanding defensive plays — but they just couldn't find the consistency they needed.

Still, they battled.

They held their heads high, took a much-needed break, and were preparing to make another run through the loser's bracket.

Then the weather had other plans.

The tournament was ultimately called after just one out in the fifth game, bringing the weekend to an unexpected end.

Fortunately, the top three teams finished with the same overall record, and because Lady Wave 8u had earned the #1 seed, they were awarded 1st place based on the tournament's tiebreaker/seeding criteria.

It certainly wasn't the way we wanted the weekend to end, but sometimes baseball and softball have a way of reminding you that not everything is going to go according to plan.

A special shoutout to Adalynn S. from the Pike County Peaches for stepping in and making some excellent contributions to the team.

9U - RUNNER UP

FOUR GAMES. THREE WINS. SECOND PLACE.

Wave Baseball 9U traveled to Pensacola last weekend for the USSSA War On 1-10, and they put together an impressive run all the way to the championship game.

Saturday started with a pair of wins in pool play.

Wave opened the tournament with an 8-2 victory over NextGen Raiders 9U. Nolan Schostag got the start on the mound and was dominant, surrendering just one hit and one run over 2⅓ innings while striking out three.

Wave came right back in Game 2 and defeated Aviators Top Gun 9U, 6-3. Luke Burns took the mound and delivered another strong performance, throwing 2⅓ innings without allowing a hit or a run.

With two wins on Saturday, Wave 9U earned the #1 seed and a first-round bye heading into bracket play.

Sunday brought tournament baseball, and Wave kept rolling.

In the semifinal, Wave 9U defeated the Neon Knights 9U, 6-2, punching their ticket to the championship game. The defense was locked in throughout the game, and Wave finished the day without committing a single error.

Then came the championship.

Wave 9U faced the Enterprise Choppers 9U with the tournament championship on the line. The boys battled all the way to the final out, but the Choppers came away with the 7-2 victory, leaving Wave 9U with a hard-earned second-place finish.

While the final game didn't go their way, this was an outstanding weekend for the Wave 9U team. They went 3-1, earned the #1 seed, battled through bracket play, and made it all the way to the championship game.

Great pitching. Great defense. Timely hitting. And, most importantly, a team that continued to compete together from the first pitch Saturday morning through the final out Sunday.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families of Wave Baseball 9U on a great weekend and a second-place finish at the War On 1-10.

THE WAVE IS COMING

Our 11U Wave Baseball team is heading to Pensacola for the Perfect Game Gulf Coast Sunday Series. Being one of the closer trips on the schedule, this is a great opportunity for our 11U families to make the short drive over and support the team.

8:30 AM — Wave 11U vs. Blackwater Baseball 11U
10:15 AM — Wave 11U vs. Panhandle Arsenal Green 11U

Our 12U Wave Baseball team is heading to Fort Walton Beach for the USSSA FWB Turf Classic. Another relatively short trip from Gulf Breeze, so come out and support the boys as they take on:

1:45 PM — Wave 12U vs. Hype Baseball NWF 12U
3:30 PM — Wave 12U vs. 850 United 12U

Our 12U Wave Baseball team is also heading west this weekend, traveling to Gulfport, Mississippi, for the Perfect Game Fall Gulf Coast Showcase. The boys will be taking on 14U competition:

8:30 AM — Wave 12U vs. Port City Prospects 14U
10:30 AM — Wave 12U vs. Hitmen Sweatt 14U

Our 14U Wave Baseball team will be in Pensacola this weekend for the USSSA September Smash. The boys will take the field for two games:

8:30 AM — Wave 14U vs. W FBA 14U
10:30 AM — Wave 14U vs. Panhandle Punishers 14U

Our 10U Lady Wave is making the longest trip of the weekend, heading west to Gulfport, Mississippi, for the USSSA Saturdays Are For The Girls tournament.

They have a full Saturday ahead:

1:00 PM — Lady Wave 10U vs. WOW Factor Deep South 10U
3:40 PM — Lady Wave 10U vs. Coastal Elite 10U Cooley
5:00 PM — Lady Wave 10U vs. PCL 10U

LADY WAVE 12U — BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE

This past weekend, our Lady Wave 12U team traveled to Saraland, AL, to compete in the USSSA Survive The Five Tournament.

This group holds a special place in the Wave organization. because they are our newest Wave team. They took the field for five games over the weekend. While they didn’t come away with a win, the scoreboard doesn’t tell the whole story.

These girls fought. They competed. They kept battling. And most importantly, they continued to learn and grow together.

Every game, every inning, and every challenge is part of building something bigger. This team is laying the foundation for what we believe can be a very bright future for Lady Wave 12U.

There is a lot of softball ahead of them, and we’re excited to watch this group continue to develop, build chemistry, and find their way.

WAVE BASEBALL & LADY WAVE SOFTBALL — WEEK 2

Apologies to our Lady Wave 12u team. We missed them on the first schedule announcement. We have it worked out now and it wont happen again.

The Wave is back on the road and back on the field this weekend for our second week of tournaments.

After a strong opening weekend, our teams are ready to build on that momentum and see what this weekend brings.

WAVE BASEBALL — USSSA War on I-10 NIT

Our 8U, 9U, 10U and 13U teams will be battling it out right here in Pensacola.

Now they’re back for another weekend of competition, along with our 8U and 10U teams, ready to keep developing and competing.

LADY WAVE SOFTBALL — Perfect Game Rising Stars

Lady Wave Softball will have two teams competing this weekend.

Lady Wave 8U is hitting the road for their second tournament of the season after winning their first tournament. They’ll take on SALT 8U Godwin and Alabama Fury 8U at the Perfect Game Rising Stars PG Supergirl as they look to keep the momentum rolling.

Lady Wave 12U will also be on the road, playing in the Perfect Game Rising Stars PG Super Girl 4GG in Fort Walton Beach, FL. They’ll face Florida Thunderbolts Green 12U, Elite Academy Titans 12U, and Panhandle Pirates as they begin their second tournament weekend of the season.

12U DEEP RUN TO START THE FALL.

Wave Baseball 12U opened their Fall season this weekend at the USSSA Okaloosa County NIT, and this team wasted no time showing that they are ready to compete.

Saturday started with pool play against the Destin Knights 12U. Wave battled their way to an 8-5 victory behind a strong performance on the mound from Kyle Corbi, who allowed just one hit and one run over three innings while striking out three. At the plate, Michael Pearson led the Wave offense, going 2-for-2.

Next up was Power Gulf South 12U. Wave continued their strong play, earning a convincing 10-2 victory. Michael Pearson, Gabe Smith, and Nolan Manning each drove in two runs to lead the Wave offense.

After going 2-0 in pool play, Wave 12U headed into Sunday bracket play with plenty of momentum.

First up was Rockets 12U, and Wave kept rolling.

Wave put together a strong offensive performance, collecting 10 hits on their way to a 13-8 victory. Robin Russell was perfect at the plate, going an impressive 3-for-3. Tucker Hannah and Robin Russell each drove in two runs, while Nolan Manning came in to pitch in relief, surrendering zero hits and striking out one.

That win sent Wave into the semifinals.

Waiting for them was a tough Power Gulf South Horton team.

Wave battled from start to finish, but ultimately came up just short, falling 3-7 in a hard-fought semifinal matchup. Michael Pearson led the Wave offense with two RBIs, while Nolan Manning continued his strong weekend at the plate, going 2-for-3.

The championship game may have been just out of reach, but this was a great first tournament and a strong start to the Fall season for Wave Baseball 12U.

The Fall season is just getting started.

11U STRONG START TO THE FALL.

Wave Baseball 11U opened their Fall season this weekend at the USSSA Okaloosa County NIT, and this team came ready to compete.

Saturday started with a matchup against Traveling Eagles Gold 11U. Wave battled their way to a 7-4 victory, with Jordy VanMeter leading the offense with three RBIs. Defensively, the Wave played a clean game, committing zero errors.

Game two brought Power Gulf South Howard 11U, and Wave's offense came alive.

Wave exploded for 14 hits on their way to a dominant 17-3 victory. On the mound, Tatum Cannington was outstanding, throwing scoreless baseball while allowing zero hits and striking out four. Cannington also led the Wave offense with four RBIs.

After going undefeated through pool play, Wave 11U headed into Sunday ready for bracket play.

Their tournament run came to an end against Hurricanes 11U, with Wave falling 4-9 in their only bracket game. Harry Martin and Bolton Chester each drove in a run to lead the Wave offense.

The first tournament of the Fall is in the books, and Wave Baseball 11U has plenty to build on. The work continues, the season is young, and this team is just getting started.
