This weekend(4/4/26), at our Naval Live Oaks cleanup, 13 volunteers collected 33 pounds of litter.
Most common finds included cigarette butts, cans, light single use plastic and rubber. Oddest finds included a saw blade and approximately 6500 feet of Poly Line Tracer Fish Tape. Neither end appeared to be cut but one DID contain a manufacturer sticker. This line stretched out over approximately a mile, and was found without a reel. It took almost an hour to clean up.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out on the holiday weekend.
We are back at Mariner’s Landing on 4/18/26, from 8:45-10am. Hope to see you there!

Despite the fact that our Mariner’s Landing cleanup on 3/28/26 was ridiculously windy, we had an incredible volunteer turnout of 54 people and still managed to to maintain 66 pounds of mainly lightweight trash in our buckets. Most common items included cigarette butts and single use plastic. Odd items included one sock, a tank top and a big PLaSTIC P. Shout out to the UWF Swim and Dive team and West Florida High School’s NTHS group.

We are back out at the Naval Live Oaks this Saturday, April 4th, 2026, 8:45am-10am. We meet at 1801 Gulf Breeze Parkway. All equipment provided. We recommend wearing bright colored clothing, bringing water, sunscreen and bug-spray.
Thanks in advance for volunteering!
