On the third floor of the Groveland Yosemite Gateway Museum you will find the History Resource Center (HRC) dedicated to collecting the genealogy and history of the area "south of the river". The area south of the Tuolumne River includes Groveland, Big Oak Flat, Buck Meadows, Greeley Hill and Chinese Camp. Volunteers collect and organize information from old newspapers, books, obituaries and other sources to build a database of information which preserves the history of individuals and the communities "south of the river". Another feature of the HRC is the Genealogy Workshop held the 4th Friday of each month (Except November & December) from 1pm to 3pm. Volunteers are available to help with genealogy projects whether you are a beginner or more advanced in your research. The HRC has access to both free and subscription internet research sites to help with your research.
