What do the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design require?
They require newly designed and constructed or altered state and local government facilities, public accommodations, and commercial facilities to be readily accessible to-and usable by-individuals with disabilities.

Today was a special day in Greenwich as we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new Central Middle School! 🎉

Members of the Greenwich ADA Advisory and Advocacy Committee were proud to be there with the Building Committee and the many people who worked so hard to make this beautiful new school a reality.

This new building represents more than bricks and mortar—it represents a commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and creating an environment where every student can learn and participate.

Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing Central Middle School to life. We look forward to seeing all the ways this new school will serve Greenwich students and families for generations to come!

Do you know the two questions you’re allowed to ask in order to determine if an animal is a service animal and not a pet? To determine if an animal is a service animal, you may ask two questions:

1. Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
2. What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?

Service animals are not pets
You can ask:
• Is the Service Animal required because of a disability?
• What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?
Service Animals must be under the control of the handler or the animal can be asked to be removed while the customer can continue shopping.
