We’re excited to officially announce that our Grand Opening will take place on June 6, 2026, from 12 PM to 4 PM!

Join us for an afternoon of drinks, snacks, new merchandise, and more as we celebrate this special milestone.

We truly appreciate everyone’s patience during the restoration of the Ireland House following the flooding back in February, which required us to push our opening a bit later than originally planned.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community and to everyone who has supported and donated to our cause—we couldn’t have done this without you.

We can’t wait to welcome you and celebrate together at our Grand Opening!

We are incredibly grateful to share that, thanks to your generosity, we have already raised over $3,000 toward restoring the Ireland House Museum after the recent flood.

The Ireland House is an important part of our local history — and your support is helping us preserve it for future generations.

The Tuesday Crew — a dedicated group of retired carpenters — generously came to assess the house and shared their time and expertise at no cost to us. Because of your donations, we were also able to contact Rowan Plumbing, who immediately came out to assess the situation and begin work on the damaged pipes.

Your continued support will also help cover the cost of drying and remediation, repairing damaged flooring and walls, restoring affected exhibits, and ensuring the museum can safely reopen to the public.

Every contribution moves us one step closer to fully restoring this important piece of our community’s history.

We are deeply thankful to everyone who has donated. Your kindness and commitment truly mean so much.
We will continue to share updates as restoration progresses.

If you’re not able to donate at this time, sharing our page and spreading the word makes a real difference.

Thank you for helping us restore and protect the Ireland House Museum. 💛

💔 We need your help! 💔

On February 11, extreme cold caused pipes to burst at Ireland House Museum, resulting in significant water damage. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover frozen pipes, leaving us with unexpected repair and restoration costs.

We’ve launched the Ireland House Museum Emergency Restoration Fund — and every donation, share, and show of support makes a difference.

To everyone who has already donated or reached out to help — thank you. Your generosity means so much to us. ❤️

If you’re able, please consider contributing and sharing this post to help us restore this treasured piece of our community’s history.

“The eastern end of Long Island has for many years felt the want of a modern hospital.” -The Brooklyn Daily Times

In 1905, that need was answered when the Wood Sisters purchased the Greenport Victorian mansion and donated it for use as the hospital. Guided by community leaders like Henry A. Reeves, the Eastern Long Island Hospital Association transformed the home into a place of healing through local philanthropy and care. What began as a bold act of generosity became a lasting legacy of community health on the North Fork — serving residents of the North Fork and Shelter Island with essential medical and surgical care, emergency services, and more for generations. After a major expansion to accommodate growing needs, the original mansion was eventually torn down, making way for a modern hospital facility.
