We are a place where all, including marginalized communities and individuals, can have their voices heard. An arts incubator, providing many opportunities for creatives and their work to be nourished. Our humanities programming centers on local history, and social and environmental justice themes. The LAVA Center is located at 324 Main St., between TD Bank and the Pushkin Gallery. NOTE: Our staff is part-time, and we cannot always respond to comments quickly. MASSCreative staff are hitting the road this fall for our Community Conversation series!

Community Conversations are a biannual, statewide series of local and regional meetings to hear directly from members of the creative sector about the challenges they face working in the cultural economy, and to discuss potential statewide policy solutions. We will use the feedback gathered through these convenings to inform Massachusetts’ 2027-2028 Creative Sector Agenda.

Whether you are an independent artist, arts administrator, nonprofit board member, cultural planner, or a community advocate - we need to hear from YOU to develop policy priorities that are responsive to the needs of the sector.

Check out our blog for upcoming meetings near you. The first Community Conversation is scheduled for next week in Pittsfield on Thursday, October 29th at 5:30 PM.

Artist’s Statement:
I am very grateful to LAVA for promoting artists, such as myself. I have loved making crafts, tiling walls and tables, making elaborate shell mandalas, creating pysanki eggs with nature scenes and dabbling here and there. I have developed a love for photography,..seeing the unusual in the usual and creating collages that often have a universal message or theme…This show will exhibit my photography inspired by trees, birds and water and collages inspired by beauty and meaning. I am very excited to share my creations with you.

All the silent movie fanatics and Halloween movie fans will love this spooky feature! The movie is a silent black and white film with an unsettling, scary nature- perfect for a Halloween night! Candy and apple c***r will be provided to complement the feature.

Come out and enjoy the movie, have some coffee or apple c***r from our cafe, munch on some candy and enjoy a night during the Halloween weekend!
