The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs. Team Great Lakes is here to help active duty and retired Sailors, Marin

es, and their families get through difficult times. Our services are free and confidential, and our compassionate staff understands the unique challenges of military life. Non-Financial Services offered include our Visiting Nurse Program and Budget for Baby Workshop.

If you give through a donor‑advised fund, is one meaningful way to put generosity into motion.

The movement encourages donors to activate charitable dollars already set aside, helping nonprofits meet needs today. Contributions through DAFs support NMCRS in providing trusted financial assistance, education, and support for Sailors, Marines, and their families when it matters most.

Whether you choose to give now or over time, your support helps bring stability and confidence to families who serve.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month, and one of the most powerful ways dads can support their own well-being while building a lifelong connection with their baby is through skin-to-skin contact. Holding your baby against your bare chest can help reduce stress, promote calm, and strengthen emotional bonding for both father and child. Aim for a minimum of 10 minutes of skin-to-skin time daily with your baby, starting on day 1 of life!

Research shows that fathers who engage in frequent skin-to-skin contact experience significantly stronger father–infant bonding compared to those who do not. Regular skin-to-skin time also encourages dads to take a more active and confident role in their baby’s daily care.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, let’s recognize that bonding is not just good for babies, it is good for dads too. Sometimes the simplest moments, a quiet cuddle and a heartbeat shared, can have the greatest impact. 💙

June 6, 1944. D-Day. Allied forces landed in Normandy in a pivotal moment of World War II.
For NMCRS, days like this are a reminder of who we are here for. Behind every mission is a person, a family, and a community carrying the weight of service. For more than a century, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society has stood with Sailors, Marines, and their families through every challenge and every new beginning, with support rooted in dignity, hope, and compassion.
