As an official Department of the Navy Museum under the Naval History and Heritage Command, the National Museum of the American Sailor aspires to preserve, educate and celebrate the history of the American Sailor and how through their dedication, patriotism and self-sacrifice, they have protected the United States and its citizens from the late eighteenth century to the present.
