FREE WORKSHOP
GARDENING FOR WILDLIFE WITH NATIVE PLANTS

June 13, 2026 10:00am - Noon

Demonstration Garden, 1036 W. Main St., Grass Valley (NID grounds)

Your plot of earth was once a precisely evolved community of cooperative plants and animals – a fantastic web of life that started underground with tiny organisms and reached into the sky with birds and insects. You can help rebuild that community by restoring native plants to your landscape. This workshop will feature the top local native plants to create habitats and provide food for many different species including birds, pollinators and small mammals.

FREE WORKSHOP: FRUIT TREE INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT

Saturday June 6, 2026 10:00 am - noon

Demonstration Garden, 1036 W. Main St., Grass Valley (NID Grounds)

Fruit trees are an investment of time and resources that can deliver long term benefits of fresh fruit from our gardens; however, they can also be challenging to grow due to all the insect pests and disease they get. It's crucial to follow a few "best practices" to prevent or at least reduce the pest pressures. IPM (Integrated Pest Management) is here to help! We'll cover the main insect pests and diseases that occur locally and how to address them using IPM strategies.

Please join us, it will be fun!
