Talk about a comeback! 🐾🏈

Colleyville Heritage hit the road looking for its first win of the season, and the Panthers delivered in a big way.

Down 16-14 at halftime, Heritage gave up another touchdown to start the third quarter. But instead of folding, the Panthers fired back with grit, determination, and a whole lot of fight.

The result? A 34-23 comeback win over Midlothian Heritage! 🔥

After a tough season-opening loss to Anna, this is exactly the kind of response Panther fans were hoping to see.

Up next, Heritage hits the road again to battle Mansfield Legacy.

A shootout at the half, but Birdville pulled away in the second. 🏈

Grapevine High came home looking for its first win of the season, and the Mustangs gave Birdville all they could handle early. The two teams were tied 25-25 at halftime in a back-and-forth battle.

Unfortunately, Birdville came out strong in the second half and went on to hand Grapevine a 49-31 loss.

The Mustangs are now 0-2 on the season, but they’ll have another chance to get in the win column next week when they hit the road to take on Fossil Ridge.

Keep fighting, Mustangs! 🏈

A stunner for Southlake! 🐉 In a battle between two top-10 ranked teams in Texas, North Crowley came out on top with a strong 40-10 win over Southlake Carroll. The Crowley defense is absolutely the REAL DEAL.

The Dragons drop to 1-1 on the season, but they’ll have a chance to bounce back next week when they return home to host an impressive Allen team. And if you’ve seen them play, you know they’re no walk in the park.

Next week, the Dragons come home! 🏈 👏

Boy, this one really hurts. 💔

Grapevine has lost a true advocate, a local business owner, and someone who genuinely loved this community.

Tiffany Branum, the former owner of The Magic Pen on Main Street, has died after a three-year battle with brain cancer.

If you’ve spent any time on this page, you may remember Tiffany. She was a regular in the comments, always rooting for local businesses and encouraging others to support them. She and her family made a point of visiting local establishments, and Tiffany loved sharing how much they enjoyed them.

Supporting local wasn’t just something she talked about. It was something she lived.

Tiffany eventually had to close The Magic Pen because of her health challenges, but her love for Grapevine never went away. A few years ago, this community came together to support Tiffany and her husband, Scott, during their own health battles. It was a reminder of just how much love this family had poured into the community over the years.

Now, we’re learning that Tiffany has passed away, leaving behind her husband and two sons, whom she adored.

Her mother-in-law shared this heartbreaking message:

“My sweet daughter-in-law, Tiffany Branum, passed away this morning. She fought a long hard battle with brain cancer for three years. She never gave up on her faith and knew the best was ahead when she got to heaven. Please keep us in your prayers for the days ahead.”

Please keep Scott, their boys, and the entire Branum family in your prayers.

And if you’re looking for a way to honor Tiffany, maybe make a point of supporting a local business this week. Grab a coffee. Shop Main Street. Try a restaurant you’ve been meaning to visit. Tell someone about a business you love.

It feels like a fitting way to remember someone who spent so much of her life encouraging others to do exactly that.

Rest in peace, Tiffany. Thanks for always reminding us to love local. 💔

Let's hear from the Panther fans! Who's making a road trip to Midlothian? 🏈

Colleyville Heritage will look to bounce back from a tough season-opening loss to Anna when the Panthers hit the road.

Despite the setback, there were plenty of encouraging signs from Heritage's offense. Sophomore quarterback Lane Vargas threw for 346 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing one of the area's most explosive passing attacks. His top targets were junior Reid Hewitt, senior Trevi Preische, and senior Sameer Johnson.

While Heritage enters the game searching for its first win, the Panthers appear to have the upper hand on paper. Midlothian Heritage opened the season with a 44-21 loss to Stephenville. Unlike Colleyville Heritage's pass-heavy attack, Midlothian Heritage showed a balanced offense, totaling 204 passing yards and 167 rushing yards in its opener.

For the Panthers, the formula is simple: continue letting Vargas and the passing game make plays and minimize mistakes while finding ways to slow a Midlothian Heritage offense that can hurt opponents both through the air and on the ground.

Heritage has plenty of reasons to feel confident heading into Week 2! 🐾🏈

Any Mustangs fans out there? It's HOME OPENER time! 🏈

Grapevine is at home this week looking for its first win of the season after a hard-fought road game against Wichita Falls Legacy.

The Mustangs saw some strong individual performances in Week 1, led by junior running back Jake Graham, who rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns, while sophomore quarterback Kye Smith accounted for 164 total yards of offense. Senior Daelynn Collins paced the defense with 7 tackles, and Cedric Hicks added 2.5 sacks.

This week, Grapevine (0-1) faces a tough challenge in Birdville (1-0). The Hawks rolled past Waco 40-22 in their opener thanks to a dominant rushing attack that piled up 260 yards on the ground. One Birdville running back accounted for 206 of those yards, meaning stopping the run will be a major key if the Mustangs want to earn their first victory of 2026.

Expect a physical battle Friday night as Grapevine looks to defend its home field and get back to .500. 🐎💪

LET'S HEAR IT, DRAGON FANS! Who is making the trip to this one? 🏈

One of Texas high school football's biggest early-season showdowns is set for Friday night. Southlake Carroll heads to North Crowley in a battle of two undefeated, top-10 teams that could have major playoff implications down the road. The Dragons are coming off an incredible comeback win over Oklahoma powerhouse Jenks, rallying from a 27-0 deficit to win 34-33 behind standout performances from quarterback Hudson Tomcheck and star receiver Brody Knowles.

The matchup features strength against strength: Carroll's explosive passing attack, led by one of the state's top receiving groups, versus a North Crowley defense that shut out Aledo 26-0 in its season opener.

Adding to the intrigue, Carroll has weapons all over the field, including Knowles, Blake Gunter, and Dez Bryant Jr., son of former Dallas Cowboys star Dez Bryant.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday at Crowley ISD Stadium, with North Crowley ranked No. 4 in Texas and Southlake Carroll ranked No. 6.

REMEMBERING A GHS GRAD TURNED HERO 🫡 🇺🇸

Friends and family are remembering Bryan Scott Myers, a Grapevine High School graduate who grew up in Colleyville and dedicated nearly two decades of his life to serving our country as a United States Marine.

Bryan was commissioned as a Marine Corps officer in 1991 and ultimately rose to the rank of Major, serving both active duty and in the Marine Corps Reserve. His service took him around the world, including deployments to Okinawa, Guantanamo Bay and Iraq, where he served with the 1st Marine Division.

After nearly 20 years of honorable service, Major Myers retired from the Marine Corps in 2011.

Bryan passed away August 10 at the age of 61.

His legacy is one of service to his country, his family and the people around him. 🇺🇸 ❤️

Anew hotel is officially taking shape near Grapevine Mills and this one is bringing a pretty exciting addition to the city’s growing hospitality scene.

Construction is underway on the future AC Hotel by Marriott at Silverlake, planned for 1701 SH 26, next to the Newcrest Image office building.

The project calls for a 5-story, 200-room hotel with an outdoor pool, full-service gym, restaurant, outdoor gathering space and about 7,000 square feet of event space.

The hotel is targeting a 2029 opening. Construction is estimated at 24–30 months.

Once complete, the AC Hotel will become another addition to Grapevine’s already impressive collection of hotels. There’s also a second hotel currently under construction near the old California Pizza Kitchen.

Our friends at Grainroot in Colleyville shared a really beautiful look at what they do with their extra bread, getting it into the hands of the people who spend their days taking care of our communities.

Firefighters. First responders. Police officers. The people who show up when we need them most.

And when there’s more bread to share, Grainroot takes it a little farther to Southlake, Bedford, North Richland Hills, Hurst and beyond.

Because community doesn’t always look like a big event or a packed room. Sometimes, it’s simply looking at what you have and finding a way to give a little back.

And we love this part: the bread still gets to do what bread is supposed to do. 🥖❤️

REMEMBERING AUDRINA 💔 🙏🏼

We’re reaching out to our community for helping hand on this one…

Audrina Lynn Mutina was just 14 years old when she passed away this week following medical complications. She was a student at Grapevine Middle School.

Audrina faced significant challenges throughout her life, but those challenges were never the whole story. She loved music and dance, princesses, pink cowboy boots, pizza, pasta, McDonald’s and ice cream. And she loved being a big sister. 💗

One of her former Dove Elementary teachers, who taught Audrina for six years, remembers her as a child who had a way of finding her way into your heart. She helped Audrina learn to read using her communication device and said, “Audrina was nonverbal, but she had so much to say.”

Now, her family is facing the unimaginable task of saying goodbye while also dealing with the unexpected expenses of laying their daughter to rest.
