🎅🚂 HUNDREDS OF SEATS STILL AVAILABLE FOR GRAPEVINE’S NORTH POLE EXPRESS!

Thought you missed your chance to ride Santa’s North Pole Express this Christmas? Not so fast! 👀🎄

Despite being one of the most popular holiday traditions in the Christmas Capital of Texas, hundreds of seats are STILL available on select dates for this year’s magical train ride!

Climb aboard the beautifully decorated vintage train, sing Christmas carols with Santa’s elves, enjoy special moments with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and take home some sweet holiday memories. ❤️

And yes, your ticket includes Mrs. Claus’ chocolate chip cookie, Frosty Chocolate Snow Milk in a souvenir mug, a special silver “We Believe” bell for each child, and a keepsake family photo with Santa!

📸 Your ticket includes one 4x6 family photo with Santa.
🎄 Plan to arrive early to enjoy the Grapevine Christmas Village and allow time for parking.
👶 Children ages 2 and up need a regular ticket; lap-rider tickets are available for younger children.
📍 The train departs from the Grapevine Christmas Village at the Cotton Belt Railroad Historic District, 705 S. Main St.

ARGYLE STAR QB RULED INELIGIBLE AHEAD OF FRIDAY’S GAME 🏈

Colleyville Heritage could be facing a very different Argyle team this Friday.

Argyle junior quarterback Hayes Hackney has been ruled ineligible in a unanimous 6-0 vote by the District 3-5A Division II Executive Committee, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Hackney transferred to Argyle before this season and his residency was called into question. His family plans to appeal the decision to the UIL State Executive Committee.

Hackney has been a major force for the Eagles, throwing for 2,574 yards and 32 touchdowns with just two interceptions this season. Argyle is 7-1 overall, undefeated in district play and averaging more than 53 points per game.

Now, the Eagles are scheduled to host Colleyville Heritage at 7 p.m. Friday, and the ruling could mean the Panthers won't have to face Argyle's star quarterback.

Argyle already defeated Grapevine High earlier this season, making this development particularly interesting for teams competing in the same district.

The Star-Telegram also reports that Argyle will not have to forfeit any games as a result of the ruling.

As we noted: Hackney's family plans to appeal, so his status for Friday could still change.

The Panthers are coming off a 59-0 win over Nevada Community, so they have plenty of momentum heading into this district showdown!

If you grew up in the ’90s, you’re going to LOVE this one! 🙌 Shannon Cairns has transformed her home into an over-the-top Halloween display featuring giant McDonald’s Boo Buckets and more than 25 oversized pieces of candy! 🍭👻

And here’s the best part? She created this larger-than-life display on a budget, using affordable materials and leftover supplies from previous projects. Talk about a DIY queen! 👑

What started as four giant Boo Buckets quickly turned into a full-blown nostalgic Halloween wonderland after her online followers encouraged her to make giant candy to fill them. Now, it’s a neighborhood attraction that brings a little ’90s magic back to life! 🧡

Tarrant County voters turned out in big numbers for the first day of early voting in the 2026 midterm election.

Just over 50,000 people cast ballots on the first day. It's a notable increase over the opening day of the last two midterm elections.

Here’s how the numbers compare:

📊 First-day early voting turnout in Tarrant County
- 2026 midterm: Just over 50,000 voters
- 2022 midterm: Approximately 29,000 voters
- 2018 midterm: Approximately 42,000 voters

Locally, Grapevine and Colleyville also saw strong starts.

📍 Grapevine Public Library: 1,655 voters
📍 Colleyville: 1,259 voters

Both locations recorded considerably more first-day voters than during the 2022 midterm election.

The early numbers show a strong start to the election season, with turnout across the county approaching the first-day level seen during the 2024 presidential election.

Of course, one day of early voting doesn't predict the final turnout. But the initial numbers offer an interesting snapshot of voter participation as the 2026 midterm election gets underway.

🍝 SURPRISE! THE DUTCH HAS A NEW NAME!

One of the most anticipated restaurant openings in town could be just around the corner, and there’s been a little plot twist along the way. 👇

Remember The Dutch, the Italian-American restaurant that’s been under construction for more than a year in the former Fireside Pies space on South Main Street? Well, if you’ve driven by recently, you may have noticed something different.

✨ The name has changed to Little Dutch! ✨

The signage has been updated, and now there’s another clue that opening day could be approaching: reservations have started appearing online for dates as soon as next week!

Now, before you get too excited and start making dinner plans, keep in mind that reservation dates can shift, and an official opening date hasn’t been confirmed. But insiders tell us the goal is to open before the end of October! 🤞

Here’s what we know about the restaurant:

🍝 It’s coming to 1285 S. Main St., in the former Fireside Pies location.
🍕 It’s from Noti Krasniqi, owner of Mio Nonno Trattoria in Flower Mound.
🥂 Expect modern Italian-American cuisine, elevated takes on familiar favorites, and an inviting, upscale atmosphere.
🌿 The renovated space includes indoor dining and an enclosed patio, with room for nearly 200 guests.

After all this time watching the transformation, we’re ready to see this space come back to life!

GCISD is inviting families to Dyslexia Family Night on October 29, an opportunity to learn more about dyslexia, explore the district’s dyslexia curriculum and connect with the teachers who support students.

The event comes as the family of Heritage Middle School student Presley Stine works to build a lasting legacy through the Presley Stine Literacy & Dyslexia Foundation, helping more children find confidence through literacy support.

The evening will include helpful information for families and fun, kid-friendly activities celebrating dyslexia. 💡

Something Grapevine voters may see at the polls: Firefighters collecting petition signatures. 🗳️

The Grapevine Fire Fighters Association Local 3113 says it will be gathering signatures during early voting and on Election Day for three proposed May 2027 ballot measures involving civil service, collective bargaining and binding arbitration.

We saw them outside the library on Monday morning when we stopped by.

Signing the petitions does not mean voting for or against the proposals. The signatures are being sought to place the questions on a future ballot for Grapevine voters to decide.

THINK YOU’RE BRAVE ENOUGH TO WALK THE HAUNTED TRAILS? 🎃💀

Colleyville is about to get a whole lot spookier! The annual Haunted Trails event is taking over the Colleyville Nature Center on October 29, and this year, it’s going to be more trick than treat! 😈

Zombies, witches and creepy clowns will be lurking along the trails, waiting to give you a fright. And if that’s not enough to get your heart racing, just wait until you see what’s hiding around the next corner! 👀

Here’s what you need to know:
