Long before we owned this home care agency I always thought the Circle of Life agency was so cool; that a native-founded, independently run home care agency was formed to serve the Native American communities with cultural specific home care services. It was also cool that it was started by a woman.
It is now one of the many agencies that is owned by a private equity firm.
A couple of years ago Accra was also bought by a private equity firm. Cherish was also recently sold.
I certainly do not blame those owners for selling, but there is a difference between an agency that is locally owned and one that is owned by a huge private equity firm that values profit over all else. Call me biased, but I love that we are a 'Ma and Pa' type agency. We, of course, recommend our agency above all else, but if you don't choose us at least look for an agency that is independently owned and contributes to your local community. One where the owners are working in the office. One that is not a huge gigantic corporation.
