💚 $5 Friday is here! 💚

It has been another busy week at Serenity Canine Advocacy Rescue & Rehab, and our vet bills continue to add up as we make sure every dog gets the care they deserve.

🐾 Nugget went to the vet this week to begin preparing for his heartworm treatment. While we’re grateful our veterinarian offers us a rescue discount, his treatment is still a significant expense, and we’re one step closer to getting him healthy again.

🐾 Java Bean had her very first vet visit after joining our rescue. She received a full exam, a skin scrape to help diagnose her skin issues, and medicated shampoo to start bringing her some much-needed relief. She still has a long road ahead, but she’s finally getting the care she has gone without for far too long.

🐾 Junie is at the vet today getting spayed and microchipped, another important step in preparing her for the bright future she deserves.

Every week, these routine and medical expenses add up quickly, but they’re essential to giving our dogs the healthy start they need.

If just a handful of people gave $5 today, it would make a real difference in helping us cover these veterinary costs.

💚 Ways you can help:
🐾 Donate $5 (or any amount you’re able)
🐾 Share this post with your friends and family
🐾 Keep our rescue pups in your thoughts as they continue their journeys

As always, thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us give dogs like Nugget, Java Bean, and Junie the second chance they deserve. We truly couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

FOSTER NEEDED ASAP FOR 2 SHEPHARD MIXES ‼️

These two shepherd mixes were saved from living in their own filth in a hoarding house covered in fleas.. There is a male and female, they’re around 6 months old, they act like they have had a really rough start in life… they can be scared of loud noises and quick movements. The Good Samaritan who rescued these dogs cannot keep them and they need somewhere to go ASAP. If you would like to foster and live near Genesee/North Oakland County please fill out our foster app: https://forms.gle/Jxdu3PJ2CTkevHM29

If your reputable rescue can take these dogs into your care please send me a message and I will get you in contact with the woman who has these dogs temporarily.

Java went to the vet today for her initial appointment, she got a skin scrape that determined that she has demodetic mange. She got medicated shampoo, and Simperica Trio to help with her skin, and heartworm prevention. We will return in 3 weeks to get her vaccines started.
We can’t believe we haven’t gotten 1 foster or foster to adopt application for her in. She can be a little shy at first but warms up in no time & loves other dogs. 🤎

Nugget had his first vet visit for heartworm treatment today, he will be started on meds to prepare him for his heartworm injections. He’s been such a good boy in his temporary foster home, he loves the kids, gets along with cats, and other dogs. After he’s healthy and neutered, this boy will be looking for his forever home!! ♥️

🚨 Emergency Intake 🚨

Meet Java Bean ☕🤎

While doing outreach with MPEP Outreach Programs, we came across four young puppies suffering from mange and trying to survive on the streets. Three of the puppies were taken in by animal control, and Serenity Canine Advocacy Rescue & Rehab is stepping up for this sweet girl.

Java Bean is approximately 5 months old. She has mostly adult teeth with just a few baby teeth remaining, and it’s clear she hasn’t had much positive human interaction in her short life. Catching these puppies was no easy task, and she’s understandably scared and unsure of people right now.

Despite everything she’s been through, she deserves a chance to learn that humans can be kind, safe, and loving.

We urgently need a foster home for Java Bean where she can decompress, heal, and begin building confidence. A quieter home would be ideal while she adjusts to life off the streets.

If you’d like to help this little girl start her journey toward a better life, please fill out our foster application:

❤️ Even if you can’t foster, please share to help us find her a safe place to land.

💙🐾 $5 FRIDAY FOR NUGGET 🐾💙

This sweet little guy has already had a rough start in life.

When Nugget’s stray hold ended and we were finally able to get him to the vet, our hearts sank when his test came back heartworm positive. 💔 At such a young age, he should be worrying about toys, treats, and belly rubs—not undergoing treatment for a preventable disease.

The good news is that heartworm disease is treatable, and our amazing veterinary team is giving us a generous rescue discount. Even with that discount, Nugget’s heartworm treatment will cost $425.

For this week’s $5 Friday, we’re asking our village to help us give Nugget the healthy future he deserves. If just 85 people donated $5, we’d have his entire treatment covered!

Every single dollar helps:
🐾 $5 buys hope
🐾 $10 buys peace of mind
🐾 $25 makes a huge dent in his treatment costs
🐾 Any amount gets Nugget one step closer to being heartworm-free

Nugget didn’t ask to be abandoned, left outdoors, or exposed to mosquitoes carrying heartworms. But now that he’s safe with us, we’re committed to seeing him through to the other side.

If you’re able to donate, share, or simply cheer Nugget on, we’d be so grateful. ❤️

Nugget has his heartworm appointment scheduled, we’ll get you healthy buddy... It’s such a shame that so many people let this preventative disease happen to their pets. 💔
