She changed? Maybe. But most importantly she healed.
“Go back to the land of your fathers and to your relatives, and I will be with you.” Genesis 31:3
This passage reminds us that sometimes moving forward requires the courage to leave behind what is no longer safe or healthy.
But healing does not always mean we never look back. Sometimes, we must return, not physically, but in our hearts, to the places of pain and hurt we have carried with us. Not to relive what happened, but to finally release it.
Healing invites us to place those painful places into the hands of a God who promises, “I will be with you.”
Healing from domestic violence can bring change that others may not understand. Setting boundaries, finding your voice, choosing safety, and learning your worth are not signs that you have become someone different, they are signs of healing and growth.
