PROUD CONFEDERATE DESCENDANT. Tyrone Williams is a retired law enforcement professional. He served as a Deputy Federal Marshal in the Kansas City district. After retiring, he served as campus police on the University of St Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. I "found" him when one of our SCV camp members (then a ROTC cadet, now an Army lieutenant colonel) saw hiTyrone driving his pickup around with Confederate flag tags and stickers on the windows....a little unusual in a northern town. A little unusual anywhere since Tyrone is very black. I went to the university, tracked him down (pretty easy in his blue uniform and 6'3' frame). He loves genealogy and I spent an hour talking with him. He has a Confederate ancestor he was very proud of. I knew I had a new member of our sons of Confederate Veterans camp when his telephone rang and the tone was "Dixie". In 2006, I helped him order a V.A. headstone for his ancestor and then we drove to Camden, Arkansas to install it (pic below). He has been a loyal member of our SCV camp for a couple of decades but his wife passed last year and he is now in a senior care facility and not doing well. A couple of major surgeries has him laid-up. He could use some cheer to get a morale boost. If you are inclined, send me a message and I'll message you his address to send him a card.
