Jennifer Torres has been fighting Stage IIIC ovarian cancer since 2019, yet she’s continued working full time as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army National Guard, caring for her family, and singing in the Long Island karaoke community. That detail stayed with me: even through chemotherapy, surgeries, recurrences, and hospital visits, Jen kept finding her way back to music.

Her oncologist recently recommended hospice or palliative care, but Jen isn’t ready to stop. She and her family found an alternative treatment facility outside the United States. Getting there would cover travel, about two weeks of treatment, and weeks or months of care at home afterward. Her grandson’s “emergency hugs” are part of what keeps her going.

So in September we wrote 5 songs and
Honored 5 Veterans or First Responders.
One of those guys was Matt King who was a National Guard airman. His Sister Tara and Mom Denise wrote this song with Tom McElvain. Here is the finished product.

This past weekend Nina, I, and Kesee Timmer were in Mastic, Long Island to write a song with 18 year Veteran Jennifer Torres. She defended this country for 18 years but now is in the fight of her life! Please pray for her and her family as they try a new treatment for cancer! Operation Song Family we can help! So the final video is for Jacob Pratt. To say his time in NY for this event was a whirlwind is an understatement. He was honored with the opportunity to take his final flight on Thursday! Friday he spent the entire day writing his song with Lee music. And then our big event on Saturday where he was honored with a great song that he and Jessee wrote. Our only hope is that he enjoyed the process and the result! What I will say is that Jake is considered a hero by many. But Nina and I think that he along with his sister Olivia have their best work ahead!!! Thanks to the Pratt’s for trusting us with his story.

Kyle McCraith! In doing this video we learned about how great of a man he is! Serving his Community, his Family, his friends! Making a huge difference in the K-9 world. Didn’t want to be recognized but truly deserved it all!! Thanks Kyle for trusting us with your story!
