The Glenview Education Foundation, more commonly known as the GEF, is a non-profit, volunteer-driven fundraising organization of District 34 parents.

The Glenview Education Foundation, more commonly known as the GEF, is a non-profit, volunteer-driven fundraising organization of District 34 parents who believe incremental private funding is critical for supporting a high performing public school district. Since being established in 2001, the GEF has invested more than $1,000,000 to fund innovative and high impact pilot programs across District 34.

💚 First day in the books, Glenview School District 34!

We hope everyone headed out this morning with big smiles—and came home with even bigger ones (and that “How was your first day?” got you more than “fine.” 😂).

These first-day faces are just the beginning. As the Glenview Education Foundation celebrates our 25th year, we’re excited for everything ahead in these classrooms—and to show you how community support helps GEF fund innovative ideas and experiences across District 34, from STEM and technology to the arts, wellness, community-building and more.

Follow GEF all year long to see Grants in Action, meet the educators behind the ideas, and discover some of the incredible opportunities happening right here in our schools. 🌱

It’s the night before school, D34. You know what that means…

Backpacks are packed.
Outfits are strategically laid out.
Lunch plans are ambitious.
Bedtimes are being aggressively suggested.
And somewhere in Glenview, someone is realizing they forgot to do laundry. 😅

Tomorrow, we’re officially back- and GEF can’t wait for another year of big ideas, innovative learning and opportunities for our students to grow. 🌱

🌱 The secret’s out: meet the new GEF!

As the Glenview Education Foundation begins its 25th year, we’re celebrating this milestone with a fresh new look—and a completely refreshed website.

Our new logo reflects both where we’ve been and where we’re going. The open book remains at its heart, representing education and the Glenview School District 34 students we serve. Now, leaves grow from its pages—a symbol of the ideas, innovation and opportunities GEF helps nurture in our schools.

For 25 years, GEF has helped educators bring ideas to life beyond what traditional school budgets can support—from STEM and technology to the arts, wellness, community-building, hands-on learning and more.

And now we’ve given our website a major facelift, making it easier to explore Grants in Action, see community support at work, meet our partners, stay connected with GEF news and discover ways to get involved.

🌱 Something new is growing at GEF this year… Have you started to piece it together yet? 👀

Back-to-school week is here (are you excited or already tired? 😅), and for the Glenview Education Foundation, this one feels a little extra special: we’re officially kicking off our 25th year! 🎉

If you’re new to GEF, hello! 👋 We’re a volunteer-led organization of Glenview School District 34 parents that helps bring big ideas to life in our schools by funding innovative, educator-driven programs and experiences that go beyond what traditional school budgets can support.

For 25 years, we’ve been helping big ideas grow into bigger possibilities for D34 students... and we’ve been pretty busy behind the scenes this summer getting ready for what’s next.

You may have already noticed a few things starting to look a little… different. 👀

That’s all we’re saying. For now. 😉 But you won’t have to wait long... BIG announcement coming tomorrow!

Behind every grant, event, and big idea for Glenview School District 34 students is a group of people showing up — after work, between busy schedules, answering texts late at night, brainstorming, planning, organizing, and believing deeply in this community. 💙💚🖤

Grateful for the board members who helped shape this year and for the new faces joining us for what’s next.

Doing meaningful work together is special. Getting to genuinely enjoy the people you do it with makes it even better.
