October is AAC Awareness Month, and we are celebrating at Scoops!

AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) refers to the different ways people communicate in addition to or instead of speech.

All kids and families are welcome! Come out Thursday, October 29th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM for ice cream, Halloween fun, free AAC resources, and a chance to try out different devices and apps.

Join us for a fun, inclusive evening celebrating all forms of communication! 🎃🍨

We wanted to wait until we got the okay from family before posting.

For those of you that did not receive word through our staff chat or via local news, we were notified on 9/2 that one of our Camp Inclusion staff members had passed in a car accident. Ben was a joyful member of our 2026 Camp Inclusion team along with his brother and we are deeply saddened by this loss.

In Ben’s honor, the Schott family decided to set up a memorial fund in his name with proceeds benefiting Camp Inclusion. Please consider donating via our website donation button or via mail so that we can help continue his legacy by supporting his peers interested in special education.

We want to thank the Schott family and continue to keep them in our prayers.

We are thrilled to award two exceptional staff members with a Hailey Zanski scholarship towards their degree or certification in education. Today we celebrate Sabrina and Maria. Both individuals went above and beyond in their roles at Camp Inclusion this summer and were selected by their lead Camp Directors.

Hailey was tragically taken from this Earth a few years ago and had planned to pursue the field of special education. This would have been Hailey’s last year in high school. It is a blessing to be able to continue awarding this scholarship in her honor to those able to carry on the love for education and youth programs in our community. We are grateful to Hailey’s family for donating the funds that allow our program to support camp staff and their college endeavors each summer.

Way to go Sabrina and Maria. Thank you for your hard work and dedication this summer. Have a great year!

We are grateful for each and every individual that has been a part of our journey. Thank you to all our Directors, Counselors, Jr. Counselors, and Volunteers that make this journey a special one.

Most importantly…
she doesn’t like us to give her attention but THANK YOU to our most incredible On-Site Coordinator, Ms. Nicole that keeps the Camp Inclusion wheels turning every single day. Her dedication and love for our program, her attention to safety, her energy and her leadership is something we’d been searching for as the Rosenthal crew works the program behind the scenes. Nicole is a ROCKSTAR!
