Today, the Col. Louis R. Francine, Camp #7, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War of New Jersey marked the gravesite of Pvt. Lewis Mingin and honored him as the last Civil War veteran to pass away in Gloucester County.
This is in fulfillment of an order form the National SUVCW to mark the graves of the last soldiers to pass away in each county. Pvt. Minigin is Gloucester County's last soldier.
The ceremony was held at the Trinity Bible Church in Glassboro.
Becks Band (12th NJ Civil War Band) performed at the service.
