🌽✨ What a beautiful and delicious time at our Tortilla Making Workshop! / ¡Qué tarde tan bonita y deliciosa tuvimos en nuestro Taller de Tortillas! ✨🌽

Community members came together to learn, laugh, and connect while making fresh handmade corn tortillas from scratch! 👩🏽‍🍳🫓 From kneading the masa to cooking tortillas on the comal, everyone had a chance to participate and enjoy this special cultural tradition. ❤️

Fue una actividad muy divertida e interactiva para todas las edades, llena de sonrisas, conversación y mucho sabor. 🥰🎉 ¡Gracias a todos los que participaron y ayudaron a crear un espacio tan cálido y acogedor para nuestra comunidad!

At SCYTF, we know that the strongest strategies are built in partnership with community, from beginning to the end, and through a resident-created-and-centered plan, like the transformational equity plan SCHEALs! developed.

As we begin updating our collective strategic plan, we’re centering listening circles; creating intentional spaces where youth, families, partners, and residents can share their experiences, in their language, with their insights, and vision for a safer, healthier, more inclusive South County.

These conversations are more than engagement… they are how we build trust, elevate lived expertise, and ensure our work reflects the real needs and strengths of our community, as shared by them.

Because meaningful change starts by listening. 💬🩵☀️

From youth photographers who will adorn the pages, to youth and resident circle keepers, to the community journalists and data-ticians in training who will help go through all the sheets of papers they collect- we will rise together.

Thank you to all the partners who are guiding this collective rythem! Adelante!

Join the South County Youth Task Force for Cafecito on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at San Ysidro Park, 7700 Murray Ave from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Take part in the South County Youth Task Force strategic plan discussion and hear from the City of Gilroy Planning Division as they share information about Gilroy Blue Skies Initiative.

Cafecito is a great way to connect with other community members and learn about important topics happening in Gilroy. This monthly event highlights different areas of interest and encourages community participation and conversation.

All are welcome! Dinner will be provided.

Youth seeking volunteer hours are invited to participate in this event.

Participe en el debate sobre el plan estratégico del Grupo de Trabajo Juvenil del Condado Sur y escuche a la División de Planificación de la Ciudad de Gilroy, que compartirá información sobre la Iniciativa Cielos Azules de Gilroy.

Cafecito es una excelente manera de conectar con otros miembros de la comunidad y enterarse de temas importantes que suceden en Gilroy. Este evento mensual destaca diferentes áreas de interés y fomenta la participación y el diálogo comunitario.
