Transport needed from Tucson to Hereford

Ora is currently in Gilbert for a follow up Echo appt with Dr. Church to make sure that it is safe for her to be under anesthesia to get spayed. We will post an update on her later, but in the meantime, she will need a ride back from Tucson to Hereford if anyone is traveling and would be willing to give her a ride back home ❤️ please p.m. if you’re able to help. After a couple of days of mama and baby not figuring it out and three feed stores later we had the right sized ni**le to start bottle feeding. We didn’t want to introduce a supplemental milk because she was producing the best milk for baby. Mama got properly milked into the bottle for baby to be properly fed. The combination of mamas engorged udder being emptied and the baby getting food to become stronger meant just a week of bottle feeding and today they have it figured out and we were able to step back❤️ Bottle feeding, while fun, is never the best option for the animals in our care. Once they go onto a bottle they are actively being weaned because we can not match the frequency that a mama would let them nurse throughout day. Keeping babies with their mamas it’s what’s best for EVERYONE.

Being born with a huge hole in the palate of your mouth means that anything that goes into your mouth can pass right to your nasal passage…and lungs. Because of her birth defect, Biene has never played with toys in all of her 7 months. Now that she is 6 weeks post surgery she is officially cleared to eat and chew and play with no restrictions and that means toys!

You guys made sure that she got ALL the toys. Today she went to PetSmart and Marshall’s to shop. She already has a favorite that she picked from her pile twice. Swipe to the end to see her 1st favorite toy🦴

She didn’t really know what to do with the toys until I let her foster siblings come out and THEN her thieving ways were clear. She’ll learn how to play with toys but it may take a few days❤️

We would love to thank all those who sent her toys but the only name that came in any of the deliveries was Lisa! Thank you to everyone who has supported Biene through to this day.

Goonie enjoying a little dinosaur chew 🦖 We have made a wish list for him on Amazon of things that are helpful for us and enjoyable for him. We were told that he does not blink often enough so eye drops will keep his eyes lubricated. His left eye already has an ulceration that we are treating, but with lubricating the other eye, it will hopefully prevent potential damage. There are some blankets since he has quite a bit of discharge from his incision and we like to change his blanket at least a couple of times a day. When Sandy took him for his CT scan, they talked about him not being a vigorous eater and that is because he has to prioritize whether he wants to breathe or eat 😞 The food on the list came to us as a partial bag from through Cody’s and it is perfect for hand feeding since he does not like to put his face into a bowl. Sid actually very much enjoys this food as well also being hand fed 🙄

We are anxiously awaiting the biopsy results and will post the results just as soon as we get them ❤️ thank you !!!!

Goonie update!
I don’t understand how somebody can take on the responsibility of another life and watch a swelling on the face/head long enough to eat away so much of a skull that a veterinarian can see the brain. The doctor was able to take a sample of the mass and it was send out for a histopathology so we can identify what exactly it is that we are dealing with which will then let us make treatment or care decisions. This did not grow overnight! It has grown long enough to move his left eye out of its “normal“ position.  We have seen many out of the ordinary medical cases, but this is the first.  I have not read his medical records yet, but I do know that there is extensive bone loss in his face due to the pretty involved mass and even though he is having a harder time breathing now than before the procedure he is still running around like the busybody that he is.  I was told that the hole by the finger on the CT image is not supposed to be visible and covered by bone and I think that all of the areas that kind of look like a spiderweb I’m not sure how else to explain it and at this point I’m not even sure that I’m right, but I think that is all the mass tissue. We are hoping to have results by the beginning of next week.

We have raised about $1500 and we are extremely grateful to everyone that has donated. Our final bill at the specialty clinic alone was $3498.27 and that is after his initial exam where he had all of his blood work and x-rays done. Please continue to share and donate if you can.
