Like so many grassroots efforts, many of the programs and partnerships supported through the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation began around kitchen tables, in classrooms, out in the field, or with small groups of neighbors simply trying to help.
Today, as the Foundation celebrates 20 years of community impact and more than $24 million invested back into the greater Gig Harbor and Key Peninsula community, we’re reminded that this work has always been powered by people choosing to show up for one another.
Your support today helps shape what the next 20 years of community care, connection, stewardship, and opportunity can become.

Today felt like a good moment to share a few reminders of what community support actually looks like here at home.
In 2025, the Gig Harbor Senior Center welcomed nearly 10,000 visits through programs focused on connection, wellness, meals, movement, and community support — while also helping deliver nearly 10,000 pounds of food to low-income seniors through its partnership with Emergency Food Network.
Since 2003, the Lu Winsor Environmental Fund has invested more than $300,000 into local environmental education, habitat restoration, and stewardship efforts that help protect the shorelines, forests, and waterways that define our region.
And in 2025 alone, EnviroCorps volunteers walked 56 miles of local roadway litter patrols and removed more than 100 bags of litter from community spaces throughout our region.
These things happen because people continue choosing to care about the place they live and the people around them.
None of us can solve every challenge facing the world right now. But together, we can help create a community where seniors feel connected, students feel supported, families feel cared for, and the natural places around us are protected for future generations.
If you’d like to be part of today’s WA Gives campaign, there’s still time to help strengthen the community we all share:
