American Bikers on a Mission are generously hosting a Winter Wonderland at our indoor arena again this year. Come out on November 14 to enjoy food trucks, home baked goodies, a bounce house, a visit from Santa and his friends, and amazing vendors.

All proceeds benefit Shining Stars mission of providing therapeutic horsemanship programs to our community.

When factoring in horse care, materials, facility maintenance, insurance, staff time, and more, a 45-minute lesson costs Shining Stars $180 to provide. But we charge participants $35 for each lesson and provide scholarships so that nobody is turned away due to inability to pay. We are able to do this thanks to our generous community! Members of our herd have been out in the community recently! Last week Dorothy visited Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community to spend time with their residents. On Saturday, Thelma and Louise participated in the The Arc of York and Adams Counties Buddy Walk. Our horses love making people smile!

Construction of our new facility is proceeding on schedule and according to plan. The structure that is taking shape contains our office and client space, indoor arena, and cart storage barn. Interior framing for the office and client space is underway.

Last weekend, 250 guests gathered at our new farm for our Unbridled Taste event in celebration Shining Stars's mission. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised $200,000!

Hosting this event on our new farm, with the construction of a 38,000 square foot facility that will transform our mission in the background, was inspiring. Before long, this is where our students and participants will gather to develop strength, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

Thelma and Louise are excited to participate in The Arc of York and Adams Counties Buddy Walk on Saturday! We are happy to support another organization doing great work in our community.

The Arc of York & Adams Counties’ Buddy Walk is THIS SATURDAY!

Join us on Saturday, October 3, from 2:30–4:30 PM at Gettysburg Rec Park for an afternoon full of fun, friendship, and inclusion!

There will be so much to enjoy, including hair tinseling, a photo booth, therapy ponies Thelma and Louise from Shining Stars Therapeutic Riding, tattoos from Gettysburg Tattoo Company, Jacked Up! food truck, Tasha’s Tasty Treats, yard games, a bounce house, and much more!

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

We were honored to attend the Gettysburg Adams Kiwanis Club Annual Meeting last night along with other great nonprofits in our community. Thank you to the Kiwanis Club for their loyal support of our mission!

This is Teddy. Teddy is more than a horse. He is a partner and friend to students who are growing physically, emotionally, and cognitively. He is the calm that helps students find their balance. He provides both therapy and joy. And like all of our horses, he is an angel without wings.
