🍂 As temperatures start to cool down, many of us are turning on the heat for the first time this season. Before you cozy up, take a few minutes to make sure your home heating equipment is ready to operate safely.

🔥 HOME HEATING SAFETY TIPS:
• Have chimneys, wood stoves, and heating systems inspected annually.
• Keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet away from heating equipment.
• Make sure smoke alarms are working and tested monthly.
• Inspect electric heaters and cords for damage and never use extension cords or power strips with space heaters.
• Fuel-burning heating equipment can produce carbon monoxide (CO) — make sure CO alarms are installed and working and that equipment has proper ventilation.

🏠 A few minutes of preparation now can help keep your family warm and safe all season long.
