BUT: there's no Highway Trash pickup day on May 29! This is due to the continuing road work along Gerton Highway. We'll resume our cleanup days sometime soon, though.

Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

Wayback Wednesday! Another great play from July 27-28, 2012.

"Going Up?" by Helen Hudson Brown had a full house! This one had a cast of ten: Debbie Hill (from Atlanta), Ruth Ann Nappi, Freddie Ann Nappi, Bonnie Moore, Jacob Lyda, J.D. Nappi, Gracelyn Perry, Don Lewis (from Black Mountain), Margaret Whitt, and Julie Delich (from Fairview).

Pic 2: Ruth Ann Nappi, as the gambling, loose woman Anitaka Daver, discusses her problems with "boss" of the only all-female funeral in town, Debbie Hill (as Alotta Graves).

Flashback Friday! From July 2015: "Two Many Ghosts," hit play by Helen Hudson Brown. Set in a 100-year-old mansion that held not one but two ghosts, the audience gasped when the ghosts "floated in" on smoke (actually dry ice).

Jason Moore and Billy Gaines handled special effects. The set design was the work of Ruth Hudson, Jim Sane, and Freddie Ann Nappi. Mary Kay McAdams capably served as stage manager. Sylvia and Jim Sane staffed the refreshments each night, with help from others who stepped forward to lend a hand, while Virginia McGuffey and Patty Tanner sold tickets at the door.

This play got a lot of attention! Margaret Whitt and Freddie Ann Nappi were guests on a radio show to talk about it, the play was in Our State magazine, and it was a sellout both nights.
