We believe there is a monumental need to heal the disconnection between the people themselves, and the earth that provides for us. We are inspired to help raise up a generation of children who are deeply connected to the world around them, have the knowledge and practical life skills to live self-sufficiently, while promoting altruism to build community. Introducing children to these skills at a young age will establish an amazing foundation for their futures. ROOTS Pillars: Workshops/Events will incorporate our Pillars: Regenerative Farming, Nature Studies, Bushcraft, Animal Husbandry, Homesteading, Mindfulness, and Community Building. All workshops will integrate the teaching of healthy interpersonal skills (leadership, teamwork, communication, empathy, problem solving, etc)

With each season of the year comes a new opportunity to learn! You will have hands-on opportunities to learn about:
-Animal rearing
-Gardening
-Soap/candle making
-Composting
-Tree studies
-Baking
-Canning produce
-Handmade things w/natural items

๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ What happens inside a cloud before it rains? Which materials can keep us dry during a storm? And how can we build a shelter strong enough to protect us from the weather?

Join ROOTS Farm & Forest School for a hands-on exploration of weather wonders!

In this interactive program, children will become weather scientists as they investigate how rain forms, test waterproof materials, and take on engineering challenges inspired by real-world weather. Through experiments, movement activities, and problem-solving, students will practice observation, prediction, creativity, and teamwork while exploring the science behind the weather around us.

Activities may include:
โ˜๏ธ Creating a rain cloud in a jar to explore how rain forms
๐Ÿฅพ Testing materials to discover what makes a rain boot waterproof
๐ŸŒฆ๏ธ Participating in weather-themed movement challenges
๐Ÿ  Designing and building a shelter to protect against stormy weather

This program encourages scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper appreciation for the natural worldโ€”all while keeping children active, engaged, and having fun.

ROOTS Trading Post OPEN TODAY & TOMORROW 1-3pm!!

If you've been meaning to stop by the ROOTS Trading Post, today is a wonderful day to visit!
Every purchaseโ€”whether it's a handmade item, nature-inspired gift, plant, craft, or locally created treasureโ€”helps support something much bigger than a store. Proceeds from the Trading Post help fund our ROOTS Scholarship Program, making nature-based education, camps, workshops, and enrichment opportunities more accessible for local children and families.

As a small, family-run organization, we are incredibly grateful for every person who chooses to shop local, support our mission, and invest in the next generation. Your support helps children connect with nature, build confidence, learn real-life skills, and develop a lifelong love for their community and environment.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. โค๏ธ
