We want to stop and make sure we give a extra little appreciation post for this welcoming news that our DCSD is sharing 🩷💚💛💙
In a time of cutbacks in the education budget, it is important for us to highlight and see that resources are being strengthened where families have requested. Welcome to the new school year friends 💙💚🩷💛

Parents this is a good opportunity to talk to your kids. We understand ding-dong-ditching was a thing. So was aqua net bangs and inflatable furniture. But times have changed. And lets leave that trend with us (genx). Because honestly, like our big bangs this new trend of ding-dong-ditching has hit a level of unsafe altitudes.
Learning situational awareness is part of growing up. Be part of a community and lets teach our youth.

Here you gooooooo Friends ⬇️⬇️⬇️ A way to support kids in our community.
Do your kids play? No? Thats ok, because creating healthy friends creates healthy associations. Lets be a part of the solution to build more opportunities for youth to have things to try and grow into as they go into high school 🥍

UPDATE: We’re getting closer to our goal! Thanks to the support of our community, $14,800 has been donated toward DHS Lacrosse, putting us just $5,200 away from our $20,000 goal.

Every donation helps us get closer to bringing lacrosse to DHS this spring. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

The NIAA has officially sanctioned lacrosse beginning in Spring 2027, and Douglas High School is preparing to bring the sport to DHS!

High Sierra Lacrosse and Douglas Lacrosse have spent the last 10 years building a strong lacrosse program in Douglas County. The transition to a sanctioned DHS program will give students the opportunity to compete for their school, earn varsity letters and team accolades, and pursue additional opportunities at the collegiate level.

To help launch the program, DHS has set a fundraising goal of $20,000 to assist with startup and implementation costs, as well as expenses that will help support the program in future seasons.

Every donation brings DHS one step closer to reaching its $20,000 goal and making lacrosse a lasting part of DHS athletics. Donations can be made in any amount.

Support DHS Lacrosse and help us get ready for the first sanctioned season in Spring 2027!
