In case you missed the Shasta Derby Results here is the link. There were record weights turned in with Big Kings and Browns making up the biggest weights. Thanks to all that came out for the event and dinner on Sat night. Photos to follow in the next post.

Kokanee Power volunteers needed!

We have two upcoming volunteer projects and would really appreciate your help.

Project 1: Trout Pen Removal and Cleaning
Monday, May 11 at 11:00 AM
New Melones Lake Marina, Glory Hole Road

We will be removing the trout pens out of the water, then cleaning and storing the pens for the season.

Project 2: Adopt-a-Highway Litter Cleanup
Saturday, May 16 at 8:30 AM
Vista lookout near the intersection of Hwy 120 and Jacksonville Road

We will be removing litter as part of our Adopt-a-Highway commitment. All personal protective equipment will be supplied. With enough help, this project should take approximately one hour to complete. There is room to park your vehicle and boat off the road for those who would like to go fishing after the project.

If you can help with either project, please reply here or contact us so we know who to expect.

Thank you for supporting Kokanee Power and helping us take care of our lakes, roadsides, and outdoor spaces!

Once again we are partnering with our friends at Anglers Atlas and their myCatch app for the Shasta Tournament for some continued fun and citizen science. This is an optional virtual side event to the main tournament with 7 ways to win some Kokanee bucks by taking pictures in the myCatch app of your Rainbows, Browns, Chinook or Kokanee on a measuring device. We'll start it Wednesday April 29th and end it May 3rd. Here are all the details and a link below in the first comment. Let us know if you have any questions. Make sure to pre-register in the app prior to getting on the water and always take your photo while on the water. The app will catch up later if you don't have cell service at the time. All of your photos need to be taken on the lake.
