This weekend marked 59 years of the Federation of Southern Cooperatives. On behalf of ASAC and the entire Federation we would like to extend a thank you to all our members in Alabama and across the 17 states we serve.

We also would like to extend a thank you to all our friends, and potential members that attended and learned what we do at the federation and at the Rural Research and Training Center.

This includes our friends over at Eco Paradigm who assisted us in cleaning up and doing some good work over in Georgia!

Here’s to another 59 years and our upcoming 60th anniversary!

Another one in the books at the RTRC!! Our honey extraction workshop was a success.
We went from hive to harvest pulling nuc’s and scraping that liquid gold!

Our staff and membership all gathered to learn how to properly collect honey, use the extractor and how to get their honey into markets!

We are so back! ASAC is hosting a honey extraction workshop live from the Rural Research and Training Center!!!

This is for all our beekeepers and soon-to-be beekeeps in the state! We will discuss the value-added side of honey, markets for products, and the entire process after the hive has done its thing.

We celebrated a year of policy & advocacy wins, financial resilience, and the work our staff did to help strengthened our membership as a whole.

We heard reports from all our cooperative membership and we are proud to say ASAC is in a healthy place!

If yesterday was any indicator, then the future of agriculture is very bright! Triple J farms did their thing yesterday, with over 200 people in attendance.

We had tractor education, drone flights, a pollinator class, a demonstration on the sawmill, cattle education, small ruminant education, and ag media education!

There was something for all future farmers and ag specialists, and ASAC is honored to participate in this event and be of service to Triple J Farms!

The Alabama State Association of Cooperatives (ASAC) is proud to highlight how professional development and hands-on agricultural training continue to impact our staff both on and off the workday.

Saturday at Triple J Farm, ASAC team member Shelia Daniels completed her very first bee colony installation after training in beekeeping since 2024. This milestone reflects the importance of continued education, skill building, and practical application in agriculture.

At ASAC, we believe the knowledge gained through outreach, technical assistance, and agricultural training should extend beyond the office and directly benefit the farms and communities we serve. From pollinator education to sustainable agriculture practices, experiences like these strengthen both our producers and our staff.

We are proud of Shelia for taking this next step in her agricultural journey and grateful for opportunities that allow cooperative education and hands-on learning to work together in real time.

The 4th annual Women’s Conference has ended, and we had a ball celebrating the women who make Ag happen in the great state of Alabama!

We heard from several speakers on everything from farming start-ups, different areas of growth, and ag practices, and we honored some of the living legends in the industry!
