Gainesville Kiwanis

Gainesville Kiwanis Gainesville Kiwanis meets every Tuesday at noon in the Gainesville Civic Center conference room! No
problem is too big or too small. Why?

Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities. Kiwanis
members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. They develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research, and much more. Because working together, members achieve what one person
cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed,
great things happen!

What a great Gainesville Kiwanis Club meeting today!

A huge thank you to Madison Neely and Gena Fleitman with Girls Gone Golfing for joining us and presenting a generous donation raised during their recent all-women’s golf scramble. We are incredibly grateful for their support of our mission and for giving back to the children and families in our community.

We would also like to thank Tamara Sieger with the Gainesville Fire Department for being our guest speaker today. Tamara shared valuable information about Emergency Management, Fire Prevention, and the many ways the Gainesville Fire Department serves and protects our community and our youth. We appreciate her taking the time to educate and engage our members.

Special thanks to Cammi Twiner, our Kiwanian of the Day, for inviting Tamara to speak and helping make today’s program both informative and impactful.

Thank you to everyone who helps make Gainesville a stronger, safer, and more caring community!

We were honored to welcome Cliff Yow to our club as he shared the inspiring story behind the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument and the mission it represents. Cliff spoke about the history of the program started by Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Hershel β€œWoody” Williams, whose vision was to honor the families who have sacrificed so much for our nation.

He also shared the meaning behind the monument itself and the impact it continues to have on Gold Star Families and our community. We learned about the annual Memorial Day ceremony held at the monument each year β€” a special time to remember, reflect, and pay tribute to our fallen heroes and the loved ones they left behind.

Thank you, Cliff, for educating and inspiring us with this important piece of American history and for helping keep the legacy of Hershel β€œWoody” Williams alive for future generations. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ

We were honored to have Pastor Melissa Hatch from Whaley Church speak to our club today about the incredible outreach programs their church provides for local families in need each year during the Christmas season. She also shared information about their upcoming 8-week summer program and the positive impact it has on children and families in our community.

A special thank you as well to Russell Carney for taking time to read to Head Start students before their summer break begins. What a wonderful way to encourage a love of reading and make a lasting impact on our youngest learners!

With teams made up of everyone from freshmen to upperclassmen, plus teachers and coaches, we had an incredible 5 teams compete and bring so much energy, teamwork, and school spirit to the event!

Our goal was to raise $400 for UNICEF, and thanks to everyone who participated, donated, and came out to support, we are so close to reaching our goal! πŸŒŽπŸ’™

A huge thank you to all the players, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this fundraiser such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you! Stay tuned for more fun events from GHS Key Club!

It’s official! πŸŽ‰ We were honored to celebrate the grand reveal of the new KIWANIS PARK sign and ribbon cutting alongside the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Gainesville Kiwanis Club is proud to partner with Gainesville Parks & Recreation to help make Kiwanis Park an even more welcoming place for our community to gather, play, walk, and enjoy the outdoors. Improvements include:

β€’ 4 new benches
β€’ 2 picnic tables
β€’ New water fountain
β€’ New Kiwanis Park sign
β€’ Lighting for evening and night walks
β€’ 1-acre wildflower patch 🌼
β€’ Newly planted trees 🌳

This project has truly been a labor of love, and we’re excited to see families, friends, and visitors enjoying the upgraded park for years to come.

We hope everyone will come out, take a stroll, enjoy the scenery, and experience all the new additions at Kiwanis Park!
