Gainesville Kiwanis Gainesville Kiwanis meets every Tuesday at noon in the Gainesville Civic Center conference room! No
problem is too big or too small. Why?

Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities. Kiwanis
members help shelter the homeless, feed the hungry, mentor the disadvantaged, and care for the sick. They develop youth as leaders, build playgrounds, raise funds for pediatric research, and much more. Because working together, members achieve what one person
cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed,
great things happen!

Proudly fly an American flag in your yard or in front of your business.

For just $60 per year, Kiwanis will place and maintain a beautiful flag on patriotic holidays—all while supporting local youth programs.

Thank you to all of our current participants that have reached out for flags! We appreciate you!

Now is the time to renew your American flag for the year! Here are the details:
-If you are a new Kiwanis Flag participant, Kiwanis will install a flagpole and set your flag out.
-Flags should be displayed this year on the following dates in 2027:
February 16 (Presidents Day)
April 18th (Medal of Honor)
May 25(Memorial Day) thru June 14 (Flag Day)
July 4 (Independence Day)
Sept 7 (Labor Day) thru Sept 11 (Patriot Day)
Medal of Honor Week
Nov 11 (Veterans Day)

-How to Participate:
Option 1: Our Kiwanis program allows you to keep and fly the flag any additional days you desire. We ask that you bring the flag in, store it in a dry place and display as listed above. Kiwanis will maintain the flags, poles and sleeves which will remain property of Kiwanis.
Option 2: Kiwanis will set out your flag during the Flag periods listed above and pick up once the period has ended.

1. $60 cash payment, mailed to Kiwanis Gainesville P.O. Box 335 Gainesville, TX 76241

2. $60 check, written to the Gainesville Kiwanis, mailed to Kiwanis Gainesville P.O. Box 335 Gainesville, TX 76241
or
3. $60 payment through Venmo to *please note in the description that payment is for Flag Program
100% of your donation goes to support Kiwanis local programs for children & youth!

💙 Thank you, Home Hospice & At The Treehouse! 💙

We were so grateful to have Home Hospice & At The Treehouse join us to share about all the incredible things they do in our community. They are so much more than hospice care!

From providing free wheelchairs, shower chairs, and other medical equipment that is donated to At The Treehouse, to offering grief counseling and hosting Dragonfly Camp twice a year for children who are struggling with grief, they are making a difference for families in so many ways. And that’s just the beginning!

Thank you for sharing your mission with us and for all you do for our community! ❤️

The Gainesville High School Key Club held their first regular meeting of the school year Tuesday. While several members were not able to attend because of extracurricular activities, the group planned their September service projects which will include a toiletry drive for Abigail’s Arms and a cleanup day at Kiwanis Park. After the meeting, several Key Club members decorated the GHS hallways as they get ready for Homecoming later this month.

🌟 Thank you, Kimberly Reiter, Director of the Cooke County Library, for joining us at our club meeting Tuesday! She shared about an exciting grant that will help digitize old newspapers from decades past—what an incredible way to preserve Cooke County’s history and make it accessible for generations to come! 📰📚

We also heard from GypsyStar’s Darlings about their upcoming Sunflower Festival, which will raise funds for several local organizations! 🌻 We love hearing about the incredible things happening in our community and the organizations working together to make a difference.

A big thank you to Russell Carney for also spending time reading to Head Start! 📖❤️

We were honored to have Larry Worthy with the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace join us at our Kiwanis Club meeting on Tuesday!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace builds and provides beds FREE of charge to children and families in need, helping ensure that every child has a safe and comfortable place to sleep. ❤️
