Herkey's Champion Buyers Club

Herkey's Champion Buyers Club HCBC was formed to honor the legacy of David "Herkey" Biffle (1950-2018). Livestock Show held in January.

HCBC pools financial resources to help support the Grand and Reserve Grand Champions at the Cooke County Jr. HCBC has been successful in building alliances with individuals and business buyers on the day of the Premium Sale. By establish buying partnerships, equitable premiums for Champion livestock projects are within reach for buyers who participate in the Premium Sale for the chance to promote

their business. HCBC strives to reach potential donors who share common interests; be it Cooke County origins, 4-H, FFA or FCCLA affiliation, farming, ranching, agriculture, junior shows, youth achievement opportunities, or perhaps a fond recollection of their acquaintance with the esteemed Herkey Biffle, himself. In his unique role Herkey delivered hospitality and humor to thousands of people. Herkey and the dedicated Select Energy Cook Team, generously catered fried fish and champion chili for charitable benefits in every community in Cooke County, plus many more throughout Texas and surrounding states. Junior livestock show boosters, volunteer fire departments, Chambers of Commerce, school athletic programs, churches and the Boys and Girls Club are just a few of many programs that were made stronger by Herkey's passion to help others. After everyone was served, it was common for Herkey to remove his apron, pick up the microphone and start the live auction, generating critical funds earmarked to fulfill the respective missions of the organizations. Herkey's special talents and humble friendship are truly missed.
