One of our favorite facets of Misti's story is how it's come full circle.

If you didn't know, Misti is one of our beloved mentors within the FWRC. She has had many women come through whose prison sentences are shorter despite committing "worse" crimes.

Misti wasn't even at the scene of her crime. And yet, she was given the sentence of prison for life without parole.

Nicole attended Misti's re-sentencing hearing and testified on her behalf. God shortened Misti's original, and in our opinion unjust, sentence. Misti will re-enter society in 2033 🙌🏼

But what does Misti do as she waits?

She serves.

Misti holds no love back from her mentees behind the razorwire. She wants to be a part of TJI when she gets out. She has seen the beauty of the ministry and has dedicated her life to what God has called her to do!

Meet Misti, one of TJI's beloved mentors behind bars.

Misti's story is a powerful testimony of faith, redemption, and trusting God while waiting for His justice.

Even when life feels unfair and the world delivers its own version of justice, God is still at work. In fact, some of His greatest miracles happen in the places that seem the most hopeless.

Despite her circumstances, Misti has chosen to trust the Lord wholeheartedly and respond to His call on her life. Today, she is encouraging and discipling other women from within prison walls, reminding them that no one is beyond the reach of God's grace.

Misti's story is one of those beautiful full-circle testimonies that stays with you long after you've heard it, and we can't wait to share more of her journey.

This is just the beginning of one of our favorite stories. 🤍

Where is God asking you to trust Him today?

Maybe you are waiting for His justice to come through. Maybe you're at the beginning of an Exodus, facing impassable waters as the enemy edges near. Maybe He asked you to take a leap of faith, and you aren't sure where it will take you.

Whatever it is He is asking you to trust Him with, it's worth it.

Take that step. Lean in. Hold out hope.

Our God is faithful. We have testimony after testimony after testimony that showcases His glory and faithfulness.

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." Isaiah 26:3 NIV

Waiting doesn’t have to be wasted time.

Sometimes we want immediate change, immediate answers, or immediate freedom from our struggles.

But, even in the waiting, God is still working.

In your weary moments of waiting, trust in the Lord. He will renew your strength.

That’s a promise, straight from His Word.
