Great progress made by Harrison Ruddell, who is painting/staining the structures at the Frostburg Rifle/Pistol Range as his Eagle Scout project. He worked on it on June 13th, and is planning to return on Saturday, July 11 to complete it. Excellent job, Harrison. Thank you.

Congratulations, Joe Mills, on this dandy gobbler. Here's Joe's story:
Hunting on my brother John's property in Belmont County, Ohio. This was the first day of "all-day" turkey hunting. I called him in about 4pm, and filled my final tag for 2026. What a season! I can't wait for next year.

Congratulations, Dave Morgan, on harvesting this nice gobbler.

April 19th was the 250th anniversary of the first shots fired of the American Revolution. A commemoration of that historic event was held at the Frostburg Rifle Range with a black powder rifle competition. The contest was sponsored by the City of Frostburg and the Big Savage Sportsmen's Club with prizes provided by the Frostburg 250th Committee.
There were two competition categories, Flintlock and percussion (cap lock). Winners in each category received cash prizes of $250 (1st place), $125 (2nd place), and $75 (third place).
Thank you Brian Vought, Director Parks and Rec; Lydia Beeman, Project Manager; Chief Nick Costello, and Ed Livengood, all with the City of Frostburg for your help with this event. Thank you members of Big Savage Sportsmen’s Club who helped set up, register participants, score targets, supervise the shooting and tear down at the end of the event (Steve Crow, Jerry Zembower, Bill Hughes, Ray Rase, Mike Childs, Keith Rosenberger, Brian Holbrook, Joe Mills, Linda Zlomek, Ken Stevens, Joe Candella, Bill Dormer and Bernie Zlomek). Thank you to the seventeen shooters who competed in this historic celebration of America’s 250th Birthday.
