HOPE Bible Mission

HOPE Bible Mission Hope is a Christian, non-denominational, and non-profit organization working to train leaders in Guatemala and Spain.

We do this by building long-term partnerships with local churches and organizations in order to grow community leaders and develop resources for the future. Ultimately, our goal is to help our partnering organizations achieve self-sufficiency.

The one thing that we always expect is the unexpected. So far, this trip has provided many opportunities for us to trust in His plan.

I left New York a day late because of train delays. Now, our travel plans are changing due to the tropical storm arriving tomorrow. On top of that, I woke up this morning to a porch full of dead bees—still cannot explain that one! 🐝

Despite the hurdles, we made it to the school to check on the progress of the new roof over the patio. That’s when we got another surprise: early in the morning, before school even started, a group of students and their teacher from the second-year middle school class were already hard at work. They were painting words on the steps representing the core values that the school wants to emphasize and their teacher discussed the words with them as they painted. 🖌️✨

This was incredibly exciting to see. In the Run:Hope ministry, we partner with teachers to provide an education rooted in Biblical values. A moment like this could never happen without dedicated educators like this middle school teacher.

Even when plans shift, it is beautiful to see the vision coming to life on the ground. Please continue to keep our team, the teachers, and the students in your prayers, and pray for Walter and me as we navigate the incoming weather. 🙏

I know, I know... you are probably tired of seeing pictures and videos of fountains. ⛲️

But as I was heading to my flight to Guatemala from LaGuardia, I was reminded once again what a pleasure it is to walk through Terminal B. Seeing water falling artistically from the ceiling is a massive upgrade from the days of leaks dripping into old garbage cans all over the terminal!

This is a great start for my trip to Guatemala to meet with our Run:Hope School leaders. Please keep us in prayer. 🙏

Credit where credit is due: the Port Authority absolutely nailed the LGA renovations. ✈️

Well, it’s already been an interesting start to the trip to Guatemala! Thanks to Amtrak and NJ Transit tunnel delays, plans had to change. I wasn’t about to pay for a pricey Uber all the way to Newark, so I managed to switch my flight to LaGuardia today. ✈️
Honestly, cooler weather, a subway ride instead of Penn Station, and LaGuardia instead of Newark? Who can complain!
Pack details: The blue bag is filled entirely with ministry supplies, and the black one is my personal luggage. Have a blessed day, everyone! 🙏

It is incredibly exciting to see our school in Ilom finally finished and in use. Some of the classrooms are already crowded and we will need to split the classes. Our high schoollready has 45 students! I had a great time with the Director Alejandro who is really the force behind the school. His faith in God has sustained him as he waited for this day. In the last picture you will see that I made some new friends.

In my ministry travels I somehow always seem to connect with coffee loving pastors. These are coffee gifts given to me by a ministry driven pastor here in Taipei. I am looking forward to possibly collaborating in ministry with this local church.

We are thrilled to have two new classrooms and a newly painted school. This was a community driven project that we were privileged to help finish. Please keep the students of Xemac in your prayers
