The one thing that we always expect is the unexpected. So far, this trip has provided many opportunities for us to trust in His plan.
I left New York a day late because of train delays. Now, our travel plans are changing due to the tropical storm arriving tomorrow. On top of that, I woke up this morning to a porch full of dead bees—still cannot explain that one! 🐝
Despite the hurdles, we made it to the school to check on the progress of the new roof over the patio. That’s when we got another surprise: early in the morning, before school even started, a group of students and their teacher from the second-year middle school class were already hard at work. They were painting words on the steps representing the core values that the school wants to emphasize and their teacher discussed the words with them as they painted. 🖌️✨
This was incredibly exciting to see. In the Run:Hope ministry, we partner with teachers to provide an education rooted in Biblical values. A moment like this could never happen without dedicated educators like this middle school teacher.
Even when plans shift, it is beautiful to see the vision coming to life on the ground. Please continue to keep our team, the teachers, and the students in your prayers, and pray for Walter and me as we navigate the incoming weather. 🙏
