For National Microchip Month, we're sharing how much more successful microchips (and pet collars with phone numbers) allow pet owners/guardians to reunite with their lost pets! Especially eye-opening is the statement on the graphic, "When a microchipped pet isn't returned home, it's usually due to incorrect or missing owner information in the microchip registry." Therefore, make sure your registry information has updated information for how to contact you (using your pet's Microchip number): www.petlink.net/microchip-search/. You can edit information at the Login button on the link (above) for all PetLink/Datamars microchip users. They are the primary vendor for FHS adopted pets, and most services are provided at no charge. An added benefit is that FHS is a backup contact to the pet owner. Therefore, FHS will be contacted if an FHS pet is located and will make every effort to contact the adopter/owner/guardian to reunite the pet with its family! All FHS-adopted pets are microchipped!
