Reminder: we have our Parents Orientation meeting this evening! We'll see you tonight, 6:30 - 7:30pm, at the St. Charbel Youth Center at Mary Queen Catholic Church! We'll be there to tell you all about Scouting and our Pack, and to answer all of your questions. Kids are welcomed (though this specific meeting will mainly be grown-ups talking to grown-ups, which is not how Cub Scout meetings usually go!)

Cub Scout Pack 452 is getting ready to kick off another exciting year! We had a fun summer, highlighted by a live video call with an astronaut on board the International Space Station and by appearing in the Friendswood 4th of July parade. Now with the school year starting back up, we're ready to kick into full gear!

We are hosting an optional Cub Scout Parent Orientation night next Monday, August 24th, from 6:30 - 7:30pm in the classrooms at Mary Queen Catholic Church. At that meeting, I'll give an overview of the Pack, introduce some of our den leaders, and answer your questions. Kids are welcomed to attend, although the focus of this specific meeting is on the parents and making sure you get all the information you need.

The following week, we'll have our first Pack meeting. All current and potential future scouts in the Pack will meet together for some fun activities and a chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. That meeting will be Monday, August 31st from 6:30 - 7:30pm, also at Mary Queen.

This week, the good folks at Scouting America published a major update BeAScout.org, the website that lets you find your local Cub Scout Packs, Scout Troops, and so forth. We think it is GREAT! Thanks to the hardworking team.

Lots of Packs around the country are getting ready to start up again after slower summer breaks -- us included. Stay tuned for final details on our Parent Orientation night and our first Pack Meeting of the 2026-27 school year, coming soon!

We had so much fun being in the Friendswood Fourth of July Parade that we forgot to post pictures! Frankly, we forgot to take very many pictures! A sign have a great day, that’s for sure.

As July near its end, we’re remembering a fun start to the month. And somehow, there’s less than a month left of summer! We’re putting the final touches now on our calendar for the fall, and will be announcing the dates of our Parents Orientation night and our first Pack meeting of the year soon!

Pack 452 closed out the school year *strong* with a great Cub-o-Ree campout, a live video call with an astronaut onboard the International Space Station, an overnighter at Space Center Houston, and a lovely 'graduation' ceremony!

The summer is a little quieter for our Pack, as many of our Scouts and volunteer leaders travel with their families. But we have a few fun things planned for this summer: stay tuned! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Our Cub Scouts were delighted to pitch in and to meet so many members of our community at the Mary Queen Catholic Church festival yesterday!

Pack 452 had a blast at Camp Karankawa this weekend for Cub-O-Ree 2026! Our Scouts enjoyed learning how to safely shoot a BB gun and a bow and arrow, running relay races, practicing US Flag etiquette, firing off bottle rockets, performing skits, eating s’mores, and everything else.

Thank you to our friends from Bay Area Council Boy Scouts of America and especially to all of the older Scouts who served as junior staffers. Our scouts are still cracking up about the staff’s excellent campfire skits!
