Due to the government shutdown, FCS Head Start will be temporarily closed starting November 1st.
Our three centers serve 144 children across Steuben and LaGrange counties. During this closure, children will lose more than a classroom - they’ll miss daily meals, learning experiences, routines and the love and support of a caring staff.
This isn’t just a pause in services this is a disruption in the lives of children and families in our community.
Our community can take action today by following the link and voicing your opinions and concerns.
The federal government shutdown is already threatening Head Start. By November 1, additional 141 programs across 41 states and Puerto Rico — serving 65,000+ children — will face potential closure.
Head Start is a lifeline for families, providing stability, healthy meals, health checkups, and essential care. Shutdown-related closures would devastate children, families, and communities nationwide.
