The event has been condensed down and will be held at Marceau park. Shout out to Kathleen Hawkins LeBlanc for facilitating the pivot to make sure Fall Fest is still happening!

📣 IMPORTANT: SoupFest Is Canceled, But Fall Fest Is STILL ON

Unfortunately, the Franklin Hurricane Booster Organization (FHBO) has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Franklin SoupFest, originally scheduled for this Saturday, October 17th, at Marceau Park.

Despite our efforts to recruit soup contestants, we did not receive enough sign-ups to make the event possible this year. We’re disappointed that we won’t be able to bring the competition, the Golden Ladle Award, and all that delicious soup to the community, but without enough participants to make it happen, we simply can’t move forward.

💙 The good news? Franklin Fall Fest is STILL ON! 💙

All the other fantastic events planned for this Saturday, October 17th, are still taking place as scheduled! We encourage everyone to come out, support our local organizations and vendors, and enjoy a fun-filled fall day in Franklin.

There has been a lot of questions lately of our involvement with a new group in the city. We would like to clear some of that up.

1. The PTSO executive board are the only people who can vote to authorize use of our EIN.

2. The FHBO is a “committee” of the PTSO and have written permission to use our EIN. Two of our executive members are on the FHBO accounts along with their president and treasurer. They handle the extracurricular and sports part for the middle school.

3. The PTSO has not gotten their approval letter to be a 501c3 as of yet but is registered with the state and ctu.

4. There was zero communication between the PTSO and FOFS prior to them advertising that they were using our EIN and therefore no permissions granted by the executive board.

5. The FHBO will be stewarding the money raised by these events in compliance with our articles of incorporation, mission statement, and bylaws.

6. Both the President of the FHBO and the PTSO understand the need for record keeping and fiduciary accountability and every dollar stewarded by these groups will be documented accordingly. In the event that the FOFS chooses to register as their own nonprofit, a check will be issued to that group and documented.

7. We commend the FOFS for all their efforts in raising funds and garnering support. We wish them well in their endeavors in the future, however any future partnerships will need to be discussed in a formal meeting with the PTSO board and reflected in minutes.

8. If members of the public still have concerns please reach out to either the FHBO President or the PTSO President.

At the end of the day, we all have the same goal; to ensure our students have opportunities and access to those opportunities. We hope you will continue to support our nonprofit and committees that raise funds everyday in the hopes of supporting our students and teachers in the Franklin Schools.

Help our children raise money for the FPTSO. Starting on September 21st your child will be bringing home a pie order form. We have been doing business with this company for years and we have gotten such good reviews from parents regarding the pies. If you don't have a child in any of our three schools we will be putting up an electronic order form so our community can also enjoy these pies. Keep us in mind for Thanksgiving dessert or freeze the pie for Christmas dessert. See you on September 21st. Let's keep the field trips free for our kids. Thank you!
