People Serving People has officially completed our 14th year of serving the community, closing out the year with our annual Christmas meal. This Christmas, we were honored to serve 472 meals, and throughout the year—including Thanksgiving and Christmas—we saw record numbers.
More than anything, this year has been eye-opening to just how hard life can be for many of our neighbors. While Thanksgiving and Christmas are usually seasons of joy and gratitude for some, for others, they can be a painful reminder of what they are going without just to survive day to day, and having the ability to alleviate a small burden by providing a warm meal is humbling.
We are deeply grateful for our volunteers who faithfully show up week after week and year after year to serve their neighbors. We are also humbled to serve alongside other incredible organizations in our community who share the same heart for helping those in need—something the Franklin-Simpson community does exceptionally well.
If you’re interested in serving with People Serving People, we are currently in need of volunteers to help serve our weekly Wednesday meals. Please fill out the Google contact form to get involved: https://forms.gle/VcFsn59ZDaSKNJKJ7 -- Wednesday serving opportunities are perfect for groups of 4–5 people. If you don’t have a group, we still encourage you to fill the form out—we’d be happy to connect you with an existing team. Youth clubs and groups are welcome as long as adult supervision is present. We’d love to have you serve alongside us!
At some point in life, we all need help. Let’s continue to find ways to lend a hand—whether it’s serving a warm meal, placing extra canned goods in local food cabinets, spending time with residents in nursing homes, or volunteering at the humane society. Small acts of kindness truly make a big difference. ❤️
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and the warmest wishes for the New Year. People Serving People has a big year ahead as we prepare to move into our new home in just a few months. Please pray for a smooth transition and that every piece falls into place so we can continue serving our community without a miss.
