At Rescuing Families, we are deeply grateful for those who served and especially for those who never made it home.

Last night was something truly special.

We had the incredible honor of attending the Rockville Centre St. Patrick’s Parade Awards Dinner—where we, alongside two amazing charities, were blessed with a $50,000 donation made possible by the tireless efforts of this extraordinary community.

What so many people don’t see is the work behind the scenes—the months of dedication, fundraising, organizing, and heart that go into making something like this possible.

This isn’t just a parade… it’s a movement of people coming together to lift others up.

Because of this generosity, families right here on Long Island will have safer homes, greater accessibility, and a renewed sense of hope.

To the entire Rockville Centre St. Patrick’s Parade Committee—thank you for believing in organizations like ours, for supporting so many charities, and for making a real, lasting impact in our community.

This is what community looks like.

This is what compassion in action looks like.

And we are beyond grateful to be a part of it. 💚

This isn’t just demolition… this is teamwork in action. 🔨❤️

Removing brick from this home is a massive job—but we’re not just tearing it down.

Every piece is being carefully removed, cleaned, and saved to be reused in the build.

It takes time.
It takes effort.
And it takes people who are willing to show up and do the work.

The GEICO teams have done exactly that.

Day after day, they’ve shown up, worked hard, and helped us move this project forward in a way we simply couldn’t do alone.

Because of them, the Reyes family is one step closer to coming home.

This day is a reminder of hope, renewal, and new beginnings — and we see that come to life on every project we take on.

Not just in the homes we rebuild…
but in the people who show up.

Our volunteers, partners, and supporters are the reason families are able to return to homes that are safe, accessible, and filled with dignity. Every hand that helps, every hour given, every act of kindness — it all adds up to something truly life-changing.
This Easter, we’re especially grateful for the community that continues to stand beside us and make this work possible.
And as we look ahead, we’re reminded that there are still so many families who need that same chance at a new beginning.

This project has become more than we ever imagined.

When we first met the Reyes family, we were focused on helping Douglas. But as time went on, we saw Mr. Reyes’ Parkinson’s progressing — and everything changed.

This one is deeply personal.

We are working every single day to create a safe, accessible home for both father and son — and to get them back home as quickly as possible.
