We're not sure how Dottie gets herself into these situations...

What we do know, is that we still need Feed Sponsors!

Our goal is to continue building Freedom Run into something that is sustainable for the long term that allows us to plan ahead rather than relying on time sensitive fundraising efforts when expenses arise.

Feed needs are just one of the many expenses that go into running a sanctuary, and thankfully most of our smaller expenses like feed bowls, treats, and medications (as a few examples) are already covered!

One thing we do as a sanctuary is night checks.
Although we check everyone during feedings and during the day as we can, night checks is when everyone is all settled in and sleeping where we can really look them over thoroughly.

We check for scrapes, bruises, wounds, hoof cracks, eye issues, bumps, and anything else that seems off, and also note any new issues we see in case they come up later, and update current notes.

Doing this is super important for preventative care, because catching things early means treating things early! There are some issues we can't see that don't show until it's too late, but this is just one thing we do on top of other precautions that help us help them as best as we can.

Today on "totally unbothered and extremely comfortable":

No one naps quite as hard as these 3 rescued piggies!

Dottie came to us at 2 years old as an owner surrender.

Duncan came to us at 6 months old from someone moving and wanting a safe place for him.

Hope came to us at 4 weeks old after jumping out of a truck on the highway.

Today, years later, they choose their activities, recieve health care, proper nutrition, a warm bed, and are completely unbothered because they know they're safe.

We love them fiercly and unconditionally ♥️🤎🩷
