Access Framingham Television (AFTV) is operated by Framingham Public Access Corporation, a non-profit corporation designated by the City of Framingham to run Public Access local television programming. Per their license agreements with the city, Cable TV companies pay a percentage of cable revenue to the City specifically to fund Public, Educational, and Government Access TV. The Public Access Studio is at 4 Vernon St in Framingham Center. AFTV trains and assists members to produce video programming, and provides cable casting facilities. Anyone who lives or works in Framingham is eligible to become a member of Access Framingham. Individual member producers are responsible for program content and retain their copyrights. Membership: Public Access television provides members with training, access to television recording and editing equipment, and cable broadcast air time to show locally recorded programming. Public Access programming is a valuable grassroots mass communications vehicle. We invite you to contact us to learn more, become a member, and take a class or volunteer with us. Individual memberships begin at $30/year ($15 for youth and seniors). We are open by appointment. Please visit accessfram.tv to make an appointment. Studio Hours:

The AFTV studio is closed on New Year’s Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day.

Here comes the next part of the Access Film Festival Recap Series: Back to School, our student block!

We continue to be blown away by the talent we see in both high school and college/university settings. This year, we added a brand-new MetroWest High School category, and the participation was astounding and encouraging!

These photos capture the essence of just some of our student filmmakers. This block was intended to celebrate the future of filmmaking and showcased a variety of student films. These films made us laugh, made us cry, and we are keeping a keen eye on these talented storytellers!

Thank you to for hosting this block. We appreciate all you do as an educator and mentor in the community!

Did you know?

Peter Salem was an African American man from Framingham, MA, who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Like most men of color who fought in the war, he did so under the promise of gaining freedom from enslavement.

During the Battle of Bunker Hill, Salem was celebrated for shooting a high-ranking British officer, boosting Patriot morale and changing the tide of the battle.

In 1786, American artist John Trumbull depicted Salem in his famous painting, "The Death of General Warren at the Battle of Bunker's Hill, June 17, 1775." A replica of this artwork was later produced on a commemorative plate housed at the Framingham History Center, where the plate's artist had removed Salem from the painting.

We are thrilled to be working with The Learning Center for the Deaf again this year! On just their third day of this fall session, (teacher) Sandy and (student) Miguel took their energy and passion outside to help spread the word about the Access Film Festival happening this Saturday! 🎬

We are also proud to share that, in our effort to make the festival accessible to all, closed captioning will be available on all supporting films. Our lineup features stories across languages, emotions, and generations... Come find out what speaks to you!
