Brothers and Sisters,

The Fort Wayne City council is considering a 365-day moratorium for data centers. ( https://www.msn.com/en-us/urban-infrastructure/environmental-sustainability/fort-wayne-city-council-considers-365-day-data-center-moratorium/ar-AA2bQ2Is?ocid=socialshare ) This could prevent other data centers or even other businesses from considering investing in our community. Costing us jobs (Local 305 currently has approximately 1500 people on referral to the Google site) and the city or county millions in tax revenues. We need you to reach out to your city council member and let them know we are not in favor of this moratorium. They always hear from the people opposed and if we don't reach out to them to let them know they have just as many constituents in favor of data centers being built here, they will impose this moratorium. Attached is a form letter you can use, a map of the city council jurisdiction so you can see which council member jurisdiction you live in, and a link to the staff directory so you can email the letter to your council member. Also, there will be a council meeting on October 13 at 5:30pm in the basement of the Citizen Square building (200 E Berry St, Fort Wayne, IN 46802) to discuss this. We need as many people as possible to show up that are in favor. You will not be required to speak, but the elected officials NEED to know that they have as many or more of constituents in favor as opposed.

Congratulations on those bounty checks. Easiest $305 or $1,000 ever! Wanna check for yourself. Give a refernce to one of the Membership Development Coordinators with 4000 or more hours for $305 and 12,000 or more hours for $1,000 and once they make Membership you and them recieve a check.

We swore in 7 new members at the Union meeting. Welcome, Congratulations all and good luck in the next chapter of your careers. While the numbers have dwindle a bit recently, our efforts are still as strong as ever and we will continue to organize everyone in the electrical industry, just as our Constitution states. , ,
