🌀 Hurricane Isaias – Important Update from The Arc of the Emerald Coast
As we all know, Hurricane Isaias has prompted significant weather warnings and closures throughout our area. We understand that unexpected closures can be challenging, but the safety and well-being of our entire Arc of the Emerald Coast family remains our top priority!
Based on information from the National Weather Service in Mobile and recommendations from the Okaloosa County Public Safety Director, The Arc of the Emerald Coast has made the following decisions:
Friday, October 9, 2026:
• 24/7 Programs and Essential Services: Will continue operating throughout the weather event to ensure the safety and care of the individuals we serve.
• Monday–Friday Programs, Operations, and Administration: Will be CLOSED.
• Adult Day Training (ADT): Our Adult Day Program was already scheduled to be closed Friday, October 9, for staff training and Monday, October 12, in observance of Columbus Day. At this time, we anticipate reopening for regular business hours on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, weather and conditions permitting.
* Okaloosa County Transit will suspended scheduled operations on Friday, October 9, 2026, and will resume as soon as conditions are safe. Individuals and families who rely on OCT transportation should plan accordingly and watch for updates regarding the resumption of services.
All employees should maintain communication with their supervisors and/or department managers throughout the storm and follow any additional instructions specific to their programs.
