The mission of Day-break is to provide loving, person-centered care to persons living with dementia while offering respite and education to their caregivers.

Help us provide meaningful activities and build genuine connections with the Friends we serve who are living with dementia.

Part-Time Position
Hours will vary each week

Responsibilities include:
Leading engaging activities
Light cleaning
Snack preparation
Most importantly, building meaningful relationships with the Friends we serve

Did you know that yesterday was National Fortune Cookie Day? We at Day-break celebrated the day with nothing else but fortune cookies!

Special thanks to Chow King in Fort Payne for donating some cookies to us when the ones we ordered didn't arrive timely.

Day-break will be closed July 3, 2026 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. Here are a couple of things we created during the month of June in preparation for the Fourth of July.

Day-break would like to thank the Alabama's Mountains Rivers & Valleys RC&D Council for a grant that allowed us to purchase furnishings, technology and medical equipment for our program. We are grateful for your support and generosity!

Day-break recently had some adorable baby goats visit. We enjoyed feeding them and reminiscing about growing up on farms. Thank you Jacob and Jennifer Daniel and children for a great afternoon!

🌟Join Day-break Adult Day Services this summer and make a difference!🌟

Day-break is recruiting high school student volunteers/interns. We hope you love building meaningful connections with older adults, including those with dementia.

Volunteers will provide companionship and people-centered interaction through the following activities:

• Arts & crafts

• Music

• Baking

• Games & social activities

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn experience, serve the community, and make a positive difference while learning more about dementia care and person-centered care. Volunteers will have the opportunity to spend quality time with older adults, helping them create joyful moments and connections across generations.

We are thankful to Asbury Christian Fellowship for providing a space for our dementia respite program! We are also grateful that they are hosting a fundraiser for our program.

Get your tickets for a BBQ lunch that will be served on June 14th! Day-break will be open for tours that day, too.
