National Staff Organization

National Staff Organization We invite you to become a fan and join in the conversations.

Given the challenging times all unions are facing, NSO recognizes the need for members to have a forum in which to share news, ideas, and comments and otherwise communicate with one another. We hope this official NSO page authorized by the NSO Executive Committee will be that forum and unite us across the country.

Why does NSO continue to invest in HTUP? Should YOU apply?✊

We asked Adrienne Jones, a recent HTUP attendee, why she thinks the National Staff Organization continues to invest in this program, and why opportunities like HTUP matter for building stronger unions and stronger leaders.

🎥 Hear Adrienne’s answer and learn why this investment matters for us all.

Interested in attending HTUP? The application deadline is September 1st! Don’t miss your opportunity to be part of this experience. Visit our website for more info on how to apply.

Did You Know? HTUP is more than the classroom. ✊📚

What’s it really like to spend a week at the Harvard Trade Union Program?

We asked Adrienne Jones about life outside the classroom—the conversations, connections, community, and experiences that made her time at HTUP so meaningful.

🎥 Hear Adrienne share what it was like to learn, connect, and build with union members from across the country.

So what can you learn at HTUP? 👀✊

We asked Adrienne Jones, a 2025–26 HTUP attendee, to share what she learned through the program.

Her answer? A lot more than just the history of the labor movement. HTUP is about understanding our power, building relationships, organizing our coworkers, and learning how we can create real change together.

🎥 Hear Adrienne share her experience and what she’s taking with her from HTUP!

At the representative assembly held this summer, NSO honored former regional director Tammy Whitaker, who retired at the end of 2025. For those who do not know her personally, Tammy is a true unionist who walks the walk. For many years she led the union's Karen Cherry Disaster Relief Fund and spoke up for members who needed help. Thank you Tammy for your positive energy and all the years of service to your union family!
