We're not going to lie...we all know teenagers can be hard. They're especially hard to engage when they're coming in guarded and hurting.
But Mill Town Church has a heart for teenagers and asked to host activities specifically for foster and adoptive teens. Last Sunday, it was incredible to watch them simply show up, spend time together, and make these teens feel seen and valued.
We saw one teen for the first time in September. She arrived looking like she'd rather be anywhere else in the world, but by the end of the afternoon, she was laughing and joking with everyone around her.
Another teen, who often needs a lot of redirection, got the chance to let his big personality shine.
Two more are going through some tough things at home due to a medical diagnosis and got to just be kids for a few hours.
Moments like these may seem small, but they're not. They build trust. They create connection. And they remind these teens that there are safe adults who genuinely care about them.
Thank you, Mill Town Church, for loving this group so well. ❤️
