We’re SO excited for what’s happening this month — from hands-on homeschool activities to our exciting new Girls Club partnership!

🌈 HOMESCHOOL ADVENTURES — RAINBOW IN A JAR! 🧪

OCTOBER 16 — LET’S MAKE SCIENCE COLORFUL!

• Friday, October 16
• 10:30 AM–1:00 PM
• $45 per child | $20 each additional child

Can you create a rainbow in a jar? 🌈

Kids will explore the science of density and discover how different liquids can form beautiful, colorful layers! It’s a hands-on experiment packed with curiosity, creativity, and a little bit of science magic!

And of course, we’ll have plenty more fun with:

🔬 Hands-on science

We’re thrilled to welcome Girls Club to Graceful Oaks Youth Ranch!

This supportive 5-week course helps girls learn, grow, and better understand the changes that come with puberty.

✨ Female anatomy & body changes
✨ Body safety & self-care
✨ Confidence, understanding & empowerment

• Thursdays | October 22–November 19
• 4:00–5:30 PM
• Ages 8–12
• $195 per girl
• Includes supplies + a small gift!

Before Graceful Oaks Youth Ranch was ever a ranch, it was a feeling Chalae knew she needed: safety.

Growing up in a home where love didn’t always feel safe or steady, she found something different with Tina, her horse. Tina became a place of comfort, trust, freedom, and connection during some of the hardest years of her childhood.
At the time, Chalae had no idea those quiet moments with Tina were planting the earliest seeds for what would one day become Graceful Oaks Youth Ranch.

Sometimes the beginning of a calling looks a lot like simply surviving—and finding one place where you finally feel safe.
But God was already writing a bigger story.

This is Part 1 of Chalae’s story—and it’s only the beginning.
If you or someone you love is searching for a place to feel safe, seen, loved, and reminded that your story isn’t over. Meet us in the arena.

Come as you are. Bring the broken pieces, the questions, the hurt, and the hope. Let’s see what happens when you give Jesus the pen and let Him write the next chapter of your story.

🐴🚒🔥 WHAT A DAY AT GRACEFUL OAKS YOUTH RANCH! 🔥🐴🌻

October is FIRE SAFETY MONTH, and our kids had an incredible day combining ranch fun with hands-on learning at our SOLD-OUT Homeschool Ranch Adventures program!

Here’s a peek at what made today so special!

🐛MEET THE PUNCTUREVINE WEEVIL! We learned about this tiny helper that can help control those pesky goat heads over time! 🌱

🐴A NEW HORSE RIDING OBSTACLE COURSE! Our riders worked on balance, coordination, and fine motor skills while having a blast in the saddle!

🚒 SPECIAL GUEST + FIRE SAFETY! The icing on the cake was welcoming our special guest to teach the kids about fire safety in the home AND wildland firefighting! The excitement continued as the kids got their very own maps! 🗺️

At GOYR, it’s about more than activities. It’s about building confidence, making friendships, exploring new interests, and creating memories while learning together.

We’re bringing SCIENCE to the ranch with a colorful, hands-on experiment all about DENSITY!

Did you know different liquids have different densities? That’s what helps create those beautiful rainbow layers in a jar! Our homeschoolers will get to explore science in a fun, creative way while making memories with their ranch friends!

Chalae knows what it feels like when life doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would.

Her own story includes childhood trauma, sexual assault, domestic violence, rejection, traumatic brain injuries, anxiety, panic attacks, and seasons when simply continuing forward felt incredibly hard. It also includes Jesus.

Through her own healing, Chalae discovered what it meant to bring the hurt, questions, anger, fear, and broken pieces to God—and allow Him to meet her there.
Now, she creates that space for other women.

Meet Chalae in the Arena is an invitation for women who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, abandonment, rejection, or other painful chapters to step away from the noise and into a place of safety, connection, horses, faith, and hope.
You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t have to have everything figured out. And you don’t have to pretend you’re okay.

Just come as you are.

Meet us in the arena. Make room for Jesus. And begin discovering that what happened to you does not have to be the end of your story.

We’re bringing in a special guest to teach kids about fire safety, and they’ll get an exciting hands-on opportunity to see and try on firefighter gear!

Something NEW is growing at Graceful Oaks Youth Ranch!

We’re excited to announce the launch of our EYLP Community Partners Program!

For 11 years, Graceful Oaks Youth Ranch has been using animal-assisted learning to help young people discover their strengths, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and prepare for their future.

Now, we’re expanding that work by joining forces with organizations that serve youth in our community.

Through the EYLP Community Partners Program, schools, nonprofits, agencies, and community organizations can partner with GOYR to bring their youth to the ranch for a customized Equine Young Leaders experience designed around their specific goals.

We start by learning about your organization, your youth, and what you want them to gain from the experience. Then, our team creates hands-on activities using horses, ranch animals, and experiential learning to help bring those goals to life.

Youth may have opportunities to strengthen:

• Leadership
• Communication
• Teamwork
• Confidence
• Problem-solving
• Relationship skills
• Responsibility
• Personal growth

Because sometimes the most powerful lessons don’t happen sitting in a classroom.

They happen when you’re working with an animal, navigating a challenge, communicating with a team, discovering something you didn’t know you could do—and realizing “I can do this.”

This program is led by Makayla Windholz, who has spent the past 11 years at Graceful Oaks developing and growing EYLP to meet the needs of youth as they prepare for the workforce and their future.

We’re excited to partner with organizations who want to invest in the potential, leadership, and future of their youth.
