We are the Education FOUNDATION of Forest Grove, a non-profit in no way affiliated with the Forest Grove Education Association - which is the local teacher's organization. While we support our teachers fully, we are not affiliated with their organization. The four pillars of our vision set out the long-term direction for the foundation – where we want to go and how we are going to get there:
We w
ork to help create a better well-rounded education for students every day, this will include instituting our own programs and activities in the future.
1) We help students receive the tools they need to succeed, and get more out of education with grants for teachers and scholarships for graduating seniors.
2) We will inspire people to take small everyday actions that can add up to a big difference for our public school students
3) We will develop new ways of raising money for student scholarships and teacher grants by doubling our volunteer base and gaining new donors and sponsorships
4) We look to the future to begin offering programs and projects of our own to also benefit students, in addition to assisting with project and programs already offered and still need assistance. We've always believed in the power of giving our students the tools they need to succeed in a climate when cuts are repeatedly made to budgets and staffing. As our foundation grows, so do our responsibilities. We recognize that challenges such as budget cuts and restrictions placed on schools and administrations affect everyone and should concern us all. Considering the wider impact we can have on education is embedded in our values and is a fundamental part of who we are and how we intend to grow as a foundation.
