Go, Lily!

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! For the whole month we are celebrating each and every new library card with even more pizzazz than usual.

If you get you get a General Library Card, we are ringing a bell, entering you for a raffle prize (a Wallace tote bag), and we will even take your photo with this super cute prop! 📸

Last weekend, our community experienced a horrific domestic violence incident that resulted in the loss of five lives and their beloved pets. In the aftermath of a tragedy like this, it is normal to have strong emotions, questions, or a need for community connection.

Next week, we are offering drop-in community support at the Forest Grove City Library. DVRC advocates and counselors will be available to talk, answer questions, and provide connections to community resources.

You do not have to navigate this difficult time alone. Whether you have questions about domestic violence dynamics, need somone to talk to, or just want to be in a supportive space, we are here for you.

Our thoughts are with the families and friends of Stella, Rowan, Mary, Linsey, and Alvin. We join our community in mourning this immense loss.

READ FOR A CAUSE update:

As of this morning, adults have logged an incredible 5,238 hours of reading and listening since June 1st, and we need just 2,262 more to unlock a $1,000 donation from the Friends of the Forest Grove Library to Tualatin Riverkeepers!

To help close the gap and get us even closer to our final goal by August 31st, all hours logged this Saturday and Sunday will count DOUBLE! That includes reading or listening to a book, listening to a podcast, or reading to someone else. Don't let this two-day bonus incentive pass you by!

Logging hours = more $ for Tualatin Riverkeepers.

READ FOR A CAUSE UPDATE:

We're pleased to report that as of this morning, adults in the community have logged a total of 2,732 hours of reading and/or listening as part of the library's READ FOR A CAUSE Adult Summer Reading program! Thanks to that amazing effort, we're over a third of the way toward reaching our goal this year of 7,500 hours and unlocking a $1,000 donation from the Friends of the Forest Grove Library to Tualatin Riverkeepers. With that kind of momentum, we'll hit the halfway point in no time!

And as a reminder, everyone who participates in READ FOR A CAUSE will be entered into a drawing for $20 Slow Rise gift cards, National Forest Day passes, and an Annual National Forest pass, which we'll give out as the grand prize in early September.
